I have a HDG6-237 Silvey. I'm not 100% sure what I want to do with it yet but thinking I may pass it on to someone. I'm thinking I don't use it enough. I actually just started a thread to try and figure out for sure if it was a Silvey. Always looking for good trades lol.

I just plug the hole on the filter housing with silicone.

It is an easy test to pull air filter and run without. The reason I suggest this is because in the post he suggests that is the only thing that changed and it was running good before the swap. Also don't overlook the tank vent. When it starts acting up, crack the fuel cap and see if it settles...

Wow. That's a good job on that one. Not much left to start a rebuild with. I would suggest parting it and a guy may b surprised the yield $ from the parts. I assume crank piston and cylinder are good.

It is inside the air filter. But try the no air filter test first and make sure it is the air filter before messing with any of that. You can also move the lever on the air filter by hand and make sure it has full open and close travel with sufficient tension.

Have you ever had to clean the spark arrestors from carbon build up? If so what kind of mix oil are you using and are you mixing it rich? If they all run good cold, until warm, I am a little suspect of the rings being sticky. I cant imagine that unless you are mixing very rich and not using high...

Take your air filter off once it is warmed up and try running it without. If there is a huge difference then what you have is a soft or stretched choke spring on the air filter and it is partially closing when more air flow is required. It would also surge and cause it to run faster as it may be...

I would concur with the rope rotor but in looking at the pics and seeing that pry bar in the flywheel fins is a little suspicious and may b beyond a binding rotor. If you can't find someone close, I would offer you this. If you pay shipping fees and parts, I will repair it for you for no charge...
