    New saw..... sort of.

Me and my dad cut with the same model, only craftsman (16' bar and 38cc) it's been a great saw. Been through many chains and a few bars with it, cut a mess of wood with that saw, I think we got it for 120 or so years ago

    Electric splitter worth it?

^Thats what my parents do, we have a splitter like the one in the vid posted above. We've used it for 3 years now, much easier to use than a gas job, easier to store, no fumes and much less maintenance. You have to know how to split with it, i.e. putting logs on at an upwards angle sometimes...

    8' logs how many cords?...pic

i say less than a cord. I did a lot of truckloads recently and realize how deceiving it can be to achieve a true full cord.

    Best way to clean flue

we got that product and use it on our insert, works great, just go slow because if that head gets caught you could break a rod and potentially have it stuck up in the liner somewhere

    Leaves??

I have seen vids of leaf pellets, I think that would be a more viable option for heating with leaves as there is a higher surface area / volume ratio

Sooteater rotary chimney cleaner worked for me!!!!!

I got my parents this for xmas last year, it has the thicker white rods tho, but we don't have any bends in the liner. Worked great just going slow speed with an up and down sweeping motion, tons of buildup came out. It was funny most of the chunks you could tell were seated in the spiral...

    faceplates off

we do this with our Osburn 1600 and it does produce more heat, specifically the radiant heat from the rest of the stove it is less attractive, but it is very easy to put the shroud back on when not in use or what have you

    Easy firewooding.

You may wanna season that for a few years first, probably not ready to burn.....

    looking for your 2 cents

Like the link posted above, my family has the Osburn 1600 very good quality and I think a somewhat underrated brand. You just don't hear too much about them, but that yields a lower price. Which brings me to another point, once you find the stove you want, shop around online, we save like...

Found an insert, anyone ever used these?

You'll basically still have a 'fireplace' not a stove, the piping and vents / fan just circulates some heat from the fire. You will still have significant drafting up through the chimney, but if you like having fires in your fireplace, this is the next best thing second to a wood stove insert

    X27 $27

I think Walmart is doing just fine even if they sold an axe at half price, after all they did run a lot of small businesses out of town. I would have done the same thing JT
