No way I could possibly use more wood than last year, wrong big time.. Southern Ontario had a Saskatchewan winter..

I did the Dryer Lint in egg cartons sealed with wax gig, now.. Dryer Lint stuff into toilet paper and/or paper towel rolls, easy, clean, burns great..

Tough one here also.. Started a month earlier, burning hard ever since, no end in sight..

Dyer Lint works great.. I stuff golf ball size pieces of lint into paper/cardboard egg cartons, pour some hot paraffin wax on top, cool, break apart, have a dozen fire-starters in minutes. Torch em' up, they will burn for 10-15mns (Will make several dozen at at time)

It's so cold here, I am going to Spidey's Sunday and Monday just to warm up, yes for a beer also..

-14F Here.. The past few weeks, I have been feeding the fire box with Locust.. First season I have had the chance to burn Locust, great fuel (I have a limited supply) No worries though, lot's of Hickory, Sugar Maple and Ash for back up..

I run my furnance fan all year long on low speed..

Pre-heat flue good, (more so in damp cold weather) use a heat gun or torch and make sure the basement windows are open.. Using a small amount of rolled up newspaper, ignite and ensure the smoke is being drawn up the flue before sparking up the wood stack.. The flame and smoke should be getting...

I do not get that much in a season.. I do burn hot at least once daily, works for me..

If you secure them correctly, they don't leak..
