Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

We've been using the Dino 1/3 cord bags for about 6 years now. We get them from Northern Woodsman. We do about 200-300 cord a year. We set ours on plastic pallets. We only use the straps to hold the bag in the stand while filling. They get moved by the pallet and then we use the rotating forks...

Firewood delivery...how far is too far?

We offer free delivery with all of our orders. That being said we get a few orders a year that are pushing 50 miles one way I'll ask for a little gas money on these deliveries. Customers are usually pretty understanding given the current business climate we are all in.

Do you deliver firewood in the winter?

If we have wood to deliver, then yes we would deliver in the winter. Have been sold out for about a month now so it won't be an issue this year.

    Paul Bunyan Show

For those that have gone in the past, can you see the whole thing in one day? Or is it better to take two days to go through it.

Firewood sales, and maybe some other stuff.

Our sales have been pretty brisk around here. About 80 or so deliveries already this year. Our sales are always crazy around the holidays, then they get a little slow. So hopefully it will be slow until Labor day now. Labor day is usually the start of crazy time for us. Most of our wood...

    Wood Processors worth the money?

We rented a Brute Force 18-24 this winter to run all of our wood through for the season. We did about 175 cords in 2 months. Josh was telling me about that processor when we picked up our rental. The two splitters on the side are for re-splits. This guys customers likes there wood small and...

    Power Split Competitor?

Just found this on U-tube and he has a facebook page as well. Wonder if he's not affiliated with power split? His machines are almost identical to theirs. To close to be an accident I would think. https://www.facebook.com/Soudure-Molloy-145696248925852/?tn-str=k*F

How many of you are running Eastonmade wood splitters?

Timber Devil and Power Split are the same. I think Timber Devil is the older version of Power Split or Timber Devil was the Canadien version, not sure how it worked. Our machine is older and it says Timber Devil on it but we get all our parts from powersplit if we need them.

How many of you are running Eastonmade wood splitters?

I see Andrew just announced that he is buying his Dads's business, Bells Firewood Processors, and changing the name to Eastonmade and going to start making firewood processors now under the Eastonmade name.

    Firewood bags

We have been using the bags for about 5 years now I think. We originally bought the Woodland Mills bags first, then we switched over to the Dino Bags. We got about 4 years of use out of the woodland Mills bags, the Dino bags I don't see them deteriorating at all yet and we are on year 4 with...

    Which dump trailer to buy?

Sandhill, My equipment trailer is a Midsota and that has a pretty decent paint job on it, not powder coat. They do make a nice dump trailer as well. https://midsotamfg.com/trailers/dump-trailers/hvo-series/ This is what a cord of wood looks like in a 8x14 Deckover. Probably 4 face cords on...

    Which dump trailer to buy?

I've been running a 8x14 PJ Deckover now for all of 7 years, rated at 14,000 lbs. Bought it lightly used but it has been running flawlessly for us, still has the original battery in it. There isn't any paint left on it but that is typical for these trailers. We delivered 130 full cords with it...

    Really? It's too hot out!

Our firewood sales have been through the roof since the Covid BS started. Normally its pretty slow this time of year but we are having a hard time keeping up with all the orders. We are starting to buy split wood wholesale from some suppliers because I know at this rate we will be sold out...

    Firewood kiln

Most people that do that sort of thing would have the chips/fuel as a by product of something else they are already producing. If you would have to buy the chips it wouldn't make sense. Just buy propane/natural gas to run the kiln. My old company that I worked for made wall panels for...
