    coil id on briggs

The coils are the same as long as it is a 5hp L engine, fits from a newer 4hp mower engine if the plug wire is long enoug, but it must be a flat head. Sent fra min Nokia 7.2 via Tapatalk

    Igland winch seems weak

Should have no problem stalling the engine at mid or low rpm, owned since new? Is the engagement mechanism working as it should? Could you have a grade or in worst case a spun bearing that have made a grove in the shaft carrying the drum? Sent fra min Nokia 7.2 via Tapatalk

    Handtools

I do realy like Stahlwille, Hazet and old Bacho tools, and of course Knipex. The problem is that you don't dare to use such tools out in the field. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

burning plastic, no, wait a moment!

Does not burn well as a firestarter, if you want cheap firestarter use diesel and wood chips, but you must be the kind of people that likes the smell of diesel ;) usually not wife approved... Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

    Skidding winch for the tractor

Yes, but has been done as a very budget solution, but a original set im quite sure is 1000$+ so I understand a DIY solution may be attempting. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

But you could use a electro clutch from a lawnmower as a safety release. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

    Skidding winch for the tractor

Some has just used a wheel on a large windscreen wiper motor to pull the rope, works but has issues with safety if you looses power as it will not release automatically. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

    Skidding winch for the tractor

If you have a suitable remote the rest is just std hydraulic, a small cylinder with spring return and a electric valve that releases oil when it's not feeded with 12V. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

    Skidding winch for the tractor

This was a friend of mine that has a serious case of firewood syndrome, but it was fun in a rather masochistic way. But in such terrain winches and snatch blocks are the only way. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

Then you are in a nice forrest, where I live you often has only one spot to winch from, maybe even have extension wires to reach what you want. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

Might be a liability problem or costly approval process, Igland have kits for retrofitting. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

Remote control is quit common here but maybe not so common in the US? Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

    Skidding winch for the tractor

Well, it's the choice between saving time or saving money, if you have remote control on the winch you can walk the tree to the winch and easy release the block but even then you save time with a self releasing. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk

I do believe the instructions for oiling the chain is to let it soak for some time and then hang it a day or two to drip off. Sent fra min Nokia 7.1 via Tapatalk
