Has anyone had a T540 drop shipped from Baileys?

I actually called Bailey's last week, after finally seeing an ad by Husqvarna for the t540 in a U.S. trade publication. The person on the phone told me it was a special order but it was available, and the price was pretty reasonable, as well! Do you know if that's actually correct yet? I...

News on the new husqvarna T540xp

kind of an update I talked to the Husqvarna reps at the Charlotte Arborist Association TCC; they actually had one of the saws there on hand. It looks and feels pretty sweet, and seems very sturdy. I asked the head guy there about the noise thing I had been told, and he scoffed at that, "No...

News on the new husqvarna T540xp

I just called Husqvarna and asked. The person there said that the problem was that the saw currently puts out 120 decibels and they need to get it down to 108. Which doesn't really make sense to me, because hearing protection can (and should) be used by any pro using a saw. How loud are other saws?

How did you get to run one, was it a demo? Did you get any information on the rollout date here? Thanks.

News on the new husqvarna T540xp

Where do you get that information from? It does seem a ridiculously long rollout, I can't imagine what's up. Haven't they been sold in Europe for a while now? I thought so, but I haven't been able to find any reviews on it. It is on the Bailey's site as being available through the "Woodland...

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

I'll try and get a few photos tomorrow when I can get back in the shop; I'm going to try and get it done tomorrow anyway. I may have to take the whole body apart now to get at it, which I was kind of hoping to avoid.

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

A-ha! As an update, I'll say that I bought the 5mm helicoil kit (which was hard to find, btw) and discovered that one of the bolt-holes had the tip of a tap broken off in it. I'm not sure how they did that, but apparently the mechanic at the dealer tried to tap it to a larger size and when it...

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

Stihl ms200t manual? Hi there- does anyone have a manual for the Stihl ms200t? I've got one I'm trying a complete teardown/rebuild on... Thanks!

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

I hear ya, but that's part of the problem. The dealer said it would run about 300 in labor to break it down and put it back together, and on an older saw it's hard to justify the cost. The idea of welding on studs is interesting, though I don't know how hard it would be to get a bolt on snug...

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

The mechanic at the dealer told me that helicoils wouldn't work, though I can't remember why he said that. It seemed like the best idea to me. It may have been because the depth wasn't deep enough, or the drilling would be too difficult. I don't know, this was months ago. Would you have to take...

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

We've got a 4-year-old 200t that we can't get the muffler to stay on. The bolts kept vibrating loose, and I think at some point one of the guys overtightened and now the bolt holes are stripped. You can get just a little tension but the muffler shakes loose again immediately. The dealer says...

what kind of tree is this

It looks like some kind of true cedar, Cedrus, though it's hard to tell without a close up of needles or cones. Guessing atlantica or libani, which are the atlas cedar and cedar of Lebanon, respectively. Maybe someone more familiar with them can tell. Gettin hacked up a bit there already, if you...

    Trenching through oak roots

In the arborists final report, did he list the elm as a Siberian elm? From the photos, it really did not look like one, the form, the bark color- but he is probably pretty used to the trees around there, I don't want to second guess someone who was there from my seeing a small online photo. Just...

    Hemlock Forest 80% dead

The soil injection of imidacloprid is the most effective and cheapest way of treating with the longest residual activity. Some research plots up north have control after 6 years, but down south I wouldn't expect that at all. Two years is certainly reasonable. Control depends on soils, weather...

    Beech Tree

Um, yeah- that tree looks pretty bad to me also. The color is way off, the crown is very thin for a beech, dying back already, it looks grim to me. If you even have a chance, you better get on it, get someone good out there, and expect it to not be easy.

    Beech Tree

I really hate hearing that statement, I've heard it many times. It's frustrating. I can't blame people for not knowing better, but I'll tell you-if it's something you care about, your trees or your children, or your house or whatever, get a professional who is a specialist to tell you what is...

    How old is this tree?

I don't know why people would pull a core for any reason other than research or inspection. Just to find out how old a tree is at a golf course doesn't seem like a good idea unless that information is being gathered for some dendrochronology being done in the area. So, I'm not trying to...
