New ms 880 runs with 361 unlimited coil.....it works!!!!

Post all you want on this thread. Glad it helped you. As an FYI I was able to tune my saw to 13k way lean, it sounded good and cut great in up to 30in wood at 12500k but in larger it was lacking. I ended up at 11500-11700. Still cuts much faster than stock in smaller wood and will pull a 60"...

    Logging chainsaw?

Stihl 441 or Husky 372xp are my vote for you

    Saw advice

Why save credit card it. Buy a pro saw you'll be happy. Take care of it, you'll be hooked soon anyway and be asking about a 3120 soon. ;)

    Saw advice

Why so big for him guys? 70cc is awesome. He's only doing his first saw and brush, clearing, bucking pine, and some hardwood. 50cc like Stihl 261 or other manufacturers pro versions in that size. Pull 3/8 20" all day light and fun. Would be a step up from saws he has experienced.

I tuned by ear, check with tach, and tested in wood which is how I ended at 12k it sounded good at WOT and cut fine in smaller wood. Once I cut in stuff bigger than 36in it seemed week. I used tach to back it down to 11500. At WOT more roar and in heavy cut power band spot on like in video.

Splitpost did the same saw and at the same time. He discovered a lot things and I think he got more out of his without porting. If I remember he put in an 084 intake boot. I'd be curious his final numbers.

As I went along and tested it changed. 12 sounded ok 4 stroking but once I cut in some bigger stuff it was lacking I backed it down and the power band in the cut came to life.

Taching at 11.5 WOT off load. Just meaning rev limit gone and not worried about. In cut I've never been successful getting reading because I'm alone and can't keep saw under load one handed. But yes 9-10 in 3ft wood is the range I get.
