    Help with Husqvarna 36

I figured the band would straighten itself out but that's a good idea. I probably should Greece it too. After seeing that a new spring would be $12 and not get here till next week I took a gamble and cut about 5/16s off the spring and ground it semi flat. That did the trick. There was also a...

    Help with Husqvarna 36

That does help. It looks to me like my spring is a tad too long. With your brake off, the spring looks like it reaches about where the roll pin is at the other end of the band. Mine would be bottomed out before that. Guess I'll have to search for a replacement spring and see if that's the...

    Help with Husqvarna 36

That's just it. I can't release the brake. It takes noticeably too much force to get it to move back a little and the spring is bottomed out before the little knuckle at the top can swing into the released position. It just doesn't click back to release with the spring in. The black plastic...

    Help with Husqvarna 36

I can't seem to figure out how to get this chain brake operating. I got this saw and the brake band was chewed up. I got a new band and got this far but it seems like the spring is too long. Doesn't even seem like it's got room to bottom out. It functions all right without the spring in and...

    Husqvarna 66 worth fixin'?

I figured I'd rebuild the carb as soon as I knew it could burn any fuel that made it to the cylinder. Just can't figure out why squirting fuel directly in there or in the carb won't fire.

    Husqvarna 66 worth fixin'?

So I cleaned it up a bit and checked all the connections. I now have spark when the plug is pulled but it's apparently not firing when it's in, is all I can guess? I squirted a little fuel in the cylinder and put the plug in and pulled away. Nothing. Only thing I can thing of is possibly a...

They have the little one on there, but not the bigger part (magneto?).

    Husqvarna 66 worth fixin'?

So, disconnecting the switch will rule out a bad one? Cap and wires look alright, but it's pretty full of oily sludge everywhere. I guess I'll start with the big one, although that seems to be the more expensive. The Brake band looks to be not easily replaceable. It's the older, metal...

    Husqvarna 66 worth fixin'?

I'll consider that once or if I can get it started. Thanks.

    Husqvarna 66 worth fixin'?

Found an old Husqvarna 66 in dad's garage. I remember it ran strong, but he says it doesn't get spark. It's got good compression and the cylinder looks good looking in from the muffler. It says it's a Yugoslavia model on the plate, but not sure if that means anything. Been looking for the two...

    Mastermind Meets The Dolmar PS-6100

No offense taken, as I know exactly what you mean. I didn't fell the tree, nor did my saw. I was however, tugging on the rope for a very long time. The tree was dangerously close to my friend's house, and he was comfortable felling it. He insisted on using his MS 290 with a 16" bar and cut...

    Mastermind Meets The Dolmar PS-6100

Got to put it in some pretty big wood today and was incredibly pleased, even though everything I've read shoulda led me to expect it. The only disappointment of the day was my current fitness level. One tree absolutely kicked my ass! Saw never stumbled or bogged down, and I only went through 2...

    Mastermind Meets The Dolmar PS-6100

Just some limbing so far, and just holding it with an evil grin (neighbors are probably frightened), but should get to some big stuff this weekend. Can't wait! Thanks nnero. They're hella ornery, but I love em.
