I am the mill, what mill can slab 8 ft wide?

I am looking for a bar long enough to slab an 8 ft wide walnut. I have the saws(3120's) and the mill now I need a bar large enough. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be great.

look in any moto-cross magazine and there will be many to choose from. Max-power(608-224-2524), milenium tech.(?), U.S. crome(866-922-5066) are all reputable companys.

I'd get the whole dual-port muffler and cover, not just the cover. The muffler is different also (no inner baffle, bigger rear exauhst hole).

The small mill works great. I don't think red oak is very good out doors. White oak is though.

The cage on your mill is very wide compared to the grandber and the GB mills, which puts more of the mill on the log for these cuts. You may have eliminated the need with you design. The GB mills are too narrow and definatly need help in this reguard. Great work!!

I also run the large aftermarket dawgs on my saws. I really like the way they act as a fence when cutting something like a 8" diameter 4' long branch in half. The chain sucks the wood right into the dawgs and hold it there, instead of sending it somewhere.

Dan Frosh, there is no "special relationship" between recomended brands of oil, (thier own) and motors.... Better oil is better. This becomes more clear in more high performance situations, ie. motorcycle, snomobile, and boat racing. High quality synthetic oil at 32 to 1, is so much better...

I run a 42" GB bar with a GB ripping chain, which I modified "grandberg" style. You don't need spikes for milling so take them off and get the extra cuttin capacity back.

I also connect a short (6-8") bar to the cage sticking out in front. This handy little appendage is great. It allows you to have much better leverage at the begining of the cuts made after the first cut is made. I am really suprised no mills have this feature. It is so much easier to start...

have someone go in now and try to buy reg bar oil and I'll bet they will tell him he needs to run the winter stuff in the cold or it may cause problems. We should take a poll as to if the dealer will now try to "sell" the idea of winter oil.

The GB mill bolts onto the saw using the bar studs. The Grandberg mills clamp only onto the bar. For using it as an open ended mill for smaller stuff the GB is for sure better(ie. grandberg small log mill). The grandberg mills are a little lighter, so for one guy sometimes it can make all the...
