    Echo-590

Great saw, you get pro construction for homeowner price. Also they have plenty of power to run the 18 or 20" bars with 3/8 full chisel chain. A great saw for firewood guys. I have run a few tanks through a demo at home and was impressed. It has the same power as the first gen 600p.

How to remove worm gear from Echo CS-3000?

Definitely a special tool to remove and install echo worm gears. The gears are hardened steel and have a taper inside so they fit up like a flywheel. Most saws up to the 346 use the same puller.

    New Echo CS-620

Wrap handle-yes, strato-no, echo is doing away with the only strato they had in the 550. I would like to see a 65-70cc saw in that chassis as well, and have suggested it at every opportunity, the chassis has the girth to handle more power, but Echo's feeling is that competing in the 70 cc...

    New Echo CS-620

Its so new that there are only two in the field in the northeast. Its based on the 600p, same displacement but new ignition and some other stuff. Weight is the same as the 600p, a little more for the wrap model. The 550p is going away, and no pics, I only had a few minutes to run them being a...

    New Echo CS-620

I had the chance to cut with one of the new Echo CS-620 saws last week. We had the CS-590, CS-600 and the 620 all in a row and cut from the same log for comparison. The 590 is no slouch, and for the money there isn't another saw built as well, but there was a noticable difference going to the...

    Got me an Echo CS-450

CS-450 is 379.99 and up brand new at any reputable dealer. Anyone whos charging 400-450 is delivering the saw with a twisted inclined plane to the customer. I.E. he screwing them severely. As far as the parts go, check witharea dealers for burned up 450, 520, or 530 saws to scavenge parts off of.

    LASER Bars

Thanks for the feedback, the tip on this bar is definitely Oregon knock off, but the bar is ruggedly built. I guess time will tell. I may have to try one myself, but with Bailey's having closeouts as often as they do I always seem to have extra bars around.

    LASER Bars

I just got a 32" Laser bar in stock for a 2188 and I noticed it was made in Germany, not ROC. I wasn't aware that anyone in Germany was producing Oregon knock-offs, I thought that was reserved for China.

    echo 360t problem

Pressure test the needle/carb before you waste any more time on it. Put 3-4 psi into the carb and submerge it in water and look for bubbles. If the check valve is the source for your leakage it wiil bubble within the bore. If it does than you just need to put a carb on it.

    EFCO MT3500 question-comparable to ECHO MS370?

Go for the Echo 370/400 all the way. Parts supply alone is a good enough reason for me. Read the thread on Efco from watsonr I think before you finalize your decision. In ny area the parts and service for Efco is non existant.

Anybody familiar with echo hedge trimmers?

I use a 4 1/2" angle grinder for all but the closest teeth to the handle. For the last 3 or 4 sets of teeth I use an extended reach cutoff wheel. As far as your crb questions go, I've never seen a non adjustable plastic carb on an echo anything. The early walbro wz was plastic, but had both...

    670 champ,super,super II

Some had Gilardoni cylinders, some were Mahle, externally a little different but internally the same from the one I had on the bench earlier in the week.

Anybody familiar with echo hedge trimmers?

Adjust the carbs richer than you would for a chainsaw or trimmer, and keep the cases greased, they dont like water in the grease either. I service/sharpen 80 to 100 of those a year and probably send 2 or 3 to scrap per year mostly due to water damage or broken cases due to being run over.

Can you improve a Jonsered 2152?

I agree that the problem was more prevalent on 2150/350 saws, but the bracket on the 2152/353 only prevented the muffler from falling off and getting whacked by the chain when the bolts loosened, it does nothing for holding torque or bolt retention. The problem lies in the metal itself. The...

Can you improve a Jonsered 2152?

Also the cylinder isn't vacuum cast like the mahle cast cylinders on the 2153's, so its prone to thread failure/porosities. If your making any more heat in the cylinder or running it above 13,000 then you'll be watching your muffler bolts fall out on a regular basis.

    cs271t vs ms192t help

The 271 will sacrifice some power but is well built and certainly very light. 192 will give you a little more power but my experience has been that if you look at one the wrong way the plastics break.

    Swedish Santa Dropped By!!!

Well, it finally happened, new Jonsered saws have finally arrived. I got a skid yesterday of 2252's, 2253's, 2258's and 2260's. Considering the rush to get them into the field I checked them all with a microscope, and found only one issue, the tank vent was disconnected from the air horn. I...

Tilton Equipment no longer Distributing Jonsered Equipment

My sales rep gave me the choice of .050 or .058 accross the board. So as to not confuse the parts guy I opted for .058 on everything but the 2188. I hope we get some small stuff soon, I'm beginning to wonder if the customers have forgotten about Jred altogether. On a sidenote, anyone have a...

Echo CS 400 Seized... What options?

With Echo part numbers if the change is only one digit it generally means the lower number has been replaced with the higher number from the factory. One thing to be cautious of is ethanol/h2o seizures. They manifest like a straight gas seizure because the engine temerature with make the h2o...

    johnsered 2166

Same saw as a 2172/372xt but with port stuffers to detune it. You'll probably see longer life/better durability due to the lower stress on all the components. I've seen a few 72's fried for no apparent reason other than them being high strung.
