love applewood but its a pain to split and stack. not many straight pieces and lots of small limbs. I live in an old orchard and the trees are dying so I have a lot of apple to cut. burns great and smells good. bought a splitter in 2014 so that part is much easier now. get all you can you will...

    Had to light up tonight!

i don't turn on heat or burn until November 1st. more blankets. the house doesn't ever get below 55 degrees. conserving wood for colder temps as I have a fireplace and it loves to eat. wife has a small space heater in the family room to take chill off.

DHT 27 ton before and after pics

mine starts on the first pull. except when I forget to flip the on switch. make sure your hyd oil filter is tight and also check the return line clamps. mine leaked a little after splitting a few cords. great machine. even smeared through some nasty applewood crotches.

How's your wood pile holding out?

sadly not keeping up. a fireplace cannot keep up at these temps so i'm forced to use propane. it always uses the same amount of wood cold or warm----a lot .load every 1 and a half to 2 hours. on the plus side we had a ice storm over Christmas and I have a lot of wood to c/s/s this year. I don't...
