Taking A Close Look At A Meteor Top End KIt For The 372XP

I see Meteor pistons for Husky 51/55s on ebay from Latvia and Greece, but no US source. Will you be supplying those here in the US? Is there a US source anyone knows of?

    Ported Husky 61 white top

Thats a beauty. I have a whitetop made before the chain brake, which makes it about a 78 to 80 model. It is no where as nice and clean as yours, but when I need a longer bar, I grab it with a 24 inch bar and chisel chain, and it does the job in fine fashion.

Best 50cc Husky over the years??

My 1984 Husqvarna rancher whitetop is still running, although getting weak. Could not ask for a more dependable saw. Light, well balanced, dependable. What more can you ask. Having said that, I cannot get parts to rebuild it, so I have a 51 in good shape, and have two 55s that I will be...

    031AV Score! (3.5 years ago)

An 031 is the only saw I ever bought new, somewhere around 1981 or 82. It is still in service, my son took it over. He now has 2 running 031s and a parts saw. They are very reliable saws. I have converted to Huskies myself, but still work on his when needs be.

    FIREWOOD..50cc,60cc,70cc???

Husky 50/51/55 with 20 inch bars, until I need a 61 with 24 inch bar. Mostly Pine 14 to 18 inch, sometimes a little larger. Most Oak here is under 14 inches. Love my 50 Huskies. One old whitetop rancher (1984) still runs well, although losing power and compression lately. Still adequate for...

    Ebay Saw?

I have bought two saws off of ebay, one was exceptional and the other was a BOHICA. You never know. Having said that, If I dont get a really good price I dont buy. Craigs list is more reliable. At least you can start it up or handle it before laying out the cash. (BOHICA= Bend Over, Here...

How do you fix a broken case ?

I picked up a Husky 55 yesterday, and found it had a broken case/chain catcher. I have seen this on other saws, wondering if there is a good fix for it besides a complete tear down and replace case half. I am thinking of putting in the av biscuit and a chain catcher then filling the area with...

    Husqvarna model 50 toasted piston

If you have one of the later model 50 saws, you can upgrade to the 53cc cylinder that fits on the 55 rancher. It is a simple bolt on that I did for my Dad on his old 50. The important thing here is to identify which model 50 you have. The early models had a smaller crankcase opening that would...

    Husqvarna model 50 toasted piston

I would contact Baileys parts man. The early 50 (Mine is a 1984 whitetop rancher) had a different bolt pattern than the later models. (My newer one is a 1995) If your serial number tag is white aluminum, good possibility it will take a different jug than the newer model with the black serial...

    Looking at a Husky 61

sounds like carb settings or maybe needs a kit. No biggy. I always change fuel filter (inside the tank) and check the cases and seals for air leaks, both pressure and vaccuum. If you dont know how someone on here can help or your dealer should know how. My dealer charges $15 to check it out for me.

    Looking at a Husky 61

husky 61 NO! They are total junk. Send them to me for immediate disposal. Seriously, I have two 61s and love them. Very good power and balance. I would rebuild them if necessary, but most likely just need some TLC. Carb kits are cheap, and they are easy to work on. Plus as stated...

Can someone explain the difference between old and new style crankshaft Stihl 066?

Would someone please explain the difference between the old and new style crankshaft for a Stihl 066? My aftermarket crank is too long on one side. VERY frustrating. My saw Serial # is 1264906##. Is that old or new?

    AWWW SH__!!!! Stihl 066 crankshaft

Damn hell spit. Now I dont know what to do to get the right part. I ordered the new crankshaft (aftermarket) and got this. It looks good, except for the fact that the shaft on the flywheel side looks a quarter inch or so longer on the new shaft than the old one. See the pictures. Now I am...

    saw wont cut straight

The last 61 Husky I bought had a 50 guage chain on a 58 guage bar. It cut some out house moon shaped cuts for sure. Just a thought .

    One saw

Well, I have a shop full of saws, from a 1984 Husky rancher to a Stihl 066, with a poulan 4218 thrown into the mix. One saw, most reliable would have to be an older Husky 55. My rancher 50 is still running, although getting weak. Low compression and parts not available anymore, the vent on the...

    What's on your bench? 08-13-2012

I have a Stihl 066 with a frozen crank to rebuild. Got it mostly apart, waiting on tooling and parts. Hope they get here before I forget how to put it back together.

DINGFRAPPEN SPIT!!#$@ My 066 went to chainsaw heaven

Well dang it anyway. My 066 went south on me. I pulled the muffler and the piston looks good, but cant turn it over. Lower end bearings. Saw a new crank assembly for $99.00, so it looks like I have a project for this winter. I will have to try to use the 045 on the mill, but thats a lot of...
