Stihl 031av with 20 inch bar and chain 200.00

I think it could use rings, maybe piston, have not checked compression, it cuts, but lacks power. It has been around a while.

Stihl 031av with 20 inch bar and chain 200.00

Older Stihl 031 saw runs and cuts good with 20 inch bar and chain. Could use a freshen up on the engine but saw starts on 3-4 pulls cold, 1-2 warm, oiler works. Has the old style logo on the recoil with the log and saw blade. 200.00

    Time to haul some ash

I have, since that pic, dropped an ash on that truck, it went before I said it could and I knew better than to be that close. Had to build a new tailgate, but who likes stock parts anyhow? Load of hard maple here.

    Time to haul some ash

I have been cutting and hauling nothing but ash for last three years. Most of what I cut is ready to burn as soon as it hits the ground, finding some going to rot standing. Woodshed is full but I cant' walk away from whats left, hauled 8 more up the other day.

Best gloves to split wood with

I have found that those cheap rubber dipped palm gloves from menards last longer than any leather glove, and only cost 2-3 dollars a pair. The only problem is, when its warm, they soak up the sweat. I can get a good weekend, sometimes two out of them though.

    Woodstove insulation??????

No, it is not insulated, just a ss flex liner inside my ceramic lined chimney. I think I need to install a block off plate, is there a kit for one or do I just need to fab one?

    Woodstove insulation??????

I have a Napoleon wood burning insert. It has dual blowers on it that bring in room air and circulate it back through the ducts in the stove, back out into the room. I am wondeing if I am losing a lot of radiant heat with the dead space behind the stove and up the chimney

    Woodstove insulation??????

The liner is run the full heighth of the chimney and capped at the top. I cut the flue door out to run the liner as was specified by the manufacture, I am thinking that a lot of the radiant heat off the stove is going in to the dead open space up the chimmney and behind it.

    Woodstove insulation??????

Three years ago I bought a wood burning insert for my fireplace and am using it as my primary heat source in the winter. It works great, but I am wondering if I can make it more efficient. There is about a foot of open space behind the stove, as well as open space on either side of the 6 inch...

    Cut a little ash

Ya, I am starting to find more of it gone past being any good. Cut one behind that pile of red oak against the woods in one of the pics, was almost all waste. Still, I am finding a lot of them still good and dry, I would bet that next year will be it though.

    Cut a little ash

Not when the EAB has been there. Everything I cut has been dead for some time. I have started to find some of it is gone to punk. What I cut in the last few weeks most likely won't get burned this year anyway, one side of the shed was already full. I have a couple of good dry ones to split for...

    Cut a little ash

Cut 5 nice ash down and dragged them out to split and haul yesterday, turned in to 4 good size loads and a FULL woodshed! All I need is a load for the front porch and a load for the back door and I am done with this years wood. Got 35 green tops to get cut up this winter to keep me out of...

    Let's see your 2014-15 wood

Had my other woods logged off a few weeks ago, won't start cutting most of the tops until this winter after the leaves brown down. Had to cut one red oak top up to get it out of my corn and clear the road though. Here is the start of 2015. The woodshed is almost full for 2013-14. 14 cords total...

    2nd Saw Recommendation

I had the fortune to run a 562xp demo a couple of weekends ago, for medium/small/large, I would put my 441 down for a spell. Fast, lighter weight saw with good power. I am normally a stihl guy, but this huskey is a nice saw for a back up. The big wood still takes the 441 though.;)

    help/advice on new saw

I am normally a Stihl guy, but I got the opportunity to run the 562xp 'Huskey last weekend and really liked it. Good all around saw, fast, light weight, fuel efficient. Will add it to my woods crew in the future. 59cc saw.

Stihl MS441 vs Husky 462 XP

I don't know about that, let's just say, Respect given for the all orange breed of saws.........

Stihl MS441 vs Husky 462 XP

First oak top cut up, stacked and cleaned up, the rest will wait for leaves off. I almost hate to return that saw, ran it a lot today, whipped through the medium/large stuff FAST. Light weight as well, nice saw!
