    Tree species?

That there looks liek beauty colored wood, were it mine I'd take a couple of of the larger trunk pieces and rip some edge grain stuff like 1x4" etc. and sticker the crap outta it, you might be surprised at the trim material you'd get. Just an' afternoon cocktail hour thought. :)...

    Is this piston normal?

Just hazzarding a guess here but I think the shallow groove on the piston is an alignment mark for your ring-gap placement. Could be wayyy off, but it sortta looks like its meant to be there as opposed to a gouge caused by something. It runs? Then don't muck with it :D :D

G'day All! Well, a wee tale of woe regarding old 266xp. Has run well all summer but last week it quit in the middle of a cut, slow death-type quit. Had gas, but spark was near dead. Put in a new plug, cleaned up mag (one spot was gooked-up with fine oily sawdust), pulled needles and...

    Combustible Air

Yep, this and the above post are right on. I think a bit depends on how much yer house sux too ;) (for example my old POS cabin sucks air from everywhere, so I'm not overly concerned about 'outside air' , but if I lived in a house with decent sealing I'd def. look into outside air sources esp...

    Pine-Magnolia marriage

Oook ook ook, pics are required for any sensible answers imho! Off the hip-type thingy tho, if you can get a line throught the crotch of the mag and tie off on the pine as high as possible, second line above cut zone to truck w.h.y., cut base of offending tree then pull and lower it at same...

Wow! some of us can only dream about scores like this! Very cool beans! Per chance is the un-identified Homie the third from the back in the first pic? It almost looks like one of the big XP models, like a 1100, just by the slotted air cover, if so a force to be reconned with beasty, but I...

Land Clearing - Burn Brush or Not?

Being a sort of regular-type guy I like smoke & fire, big fire.... smoke, tits, steaks, beerz, all the fun stuff blah blah blah. Really though, if ya can swing it, chipping is probably your best bet if you wish to add to the soil/bio-mass. Though burning is certainly fun, it wastes a lot of...

Solution for loose bar mounting studs?

Replace stud. Or case. I suppose you could try and epoxy the whole schmearin' thing together but considering the time and effort I don't think its worth it, besides, unless its your much hated BIL running it, do you really want to risk bar/chain failure? Dunno, jest a thought. Cheers...
