    we charge $10 any size including rakers off the saw $12 on the saw, and thats all it is no blowing off saw no tunes nothing just sharpening. i would much rather do mower blades and knives and ax's then doing chain. i simply hate it. when i just have a few to do i do it by hand, its just easier...

    you need to advance the timing, you will get another 1500 rpm in the cut. i upgraded to a bing knockoff from baileys and that thing woke up.....try it and see!!!!

    i just did this conversion, it was a pain in the ass but SOOOO worth the increased power. also advanced the ignition timing and opened up the exhaust. here are some pics..

    Finding Old Dealers?

    check with a place called longmont tool exchange. i know he has alot of old saws laying around, but not too sure if any are mcCulloch or Homelite saws. its a little far away from you, but might pay out. and if it does let me know..

    just finished an 045 plug wire, 041 tune up and sharpen, finished 45 chain sharpens, a poulan 2000 fuel line replacement, br600 wireing, and have a toro line trimmer on the bench next, but that has to wait till next week after i go hunting!!

    why not just buy a 440 and put a 460 piston and cylinder on it and mod that??? its just as light and has more power

    well i like the 440 better, also its lighter, parts are cheaper, and mods are easier, plus everyone wants a 440, so if i plan on selling it, it will be easier to get rid of, but im probably not gonna get rid of it!

    im actually a Stihl mechanic, so i have had the thrill of doing lots of them, and actually cutting with them and seeing the improvements! but i have never done any of my own saws, so its gonna be a whole new experience for me.....

    ordered a big boy saw today! got tired of having little saws and went and ordered me a brand new MS440 full wrap 25" bar. should arrive tomorrow morning! super stoked!! then its getting modded as soon as it comes out of the box!!:rock:

    carb question

    scott, look into the HDC-32a carb. Looks like the same throttle setup and has a replaceable jet that you can change. Unlike the one you have on there now that does not have the removable jet.
