Pulled out the big saws yesterday.

Sorry no pics! I helped my Dad and brother cut some wood yesterday. I ran a few tanks through the 090, freehandimg that saw wears you out fast! Then I moved over to the 660 to buck a few trees. Lastly I used the 346xp to shave a few limbs off a tree that was hung up, its safely on the ground...

    Scratcher Chain

I have a large Holtec saw, its very boring. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner and makes a ton of dust, scratcher chain sucks!

Using an in tree saw on the ground?

For those really small limbs I like the way he's already doing it. The saw is designed to use with one hand... For limbs a bit bigger I use my 346xp and a pole saw on the short setting. The pole saw is amazingly handy cutting into bushes and brush, no bending over or getting scratched up.

Best starting saw of all time?

As long as it hasn't sat for 6 months my 090 is my best starting saw. If I'm fast enough turning the choke off it can start in one pull and with the de-comp it's not too hard to pull either.

    Cleared the road today

Here is a pic of Dad's house, the camp is completely behind the mountain in the background.

    Cleared the road today

We try to do all our cutting from November to the end of May. The rest of the year can be a little warm but no too bad. The warmest month of the year on the coast here is October when it touches a 100. The rest of the year is 65 to 85. The tree in the pic was blocking the road to our campsite...

    Cleared the road today

77 degrees there yesterday and that boy does need a belt! The weather is great but it looks like a 4th year of drought on the horizon, usually I wouldn't be able to drive around on these clay roads this time of year.

    Cleared the road today

My Dad, bother, son and cousin got together today to clear trees off the roads on our ranch today. We started on the small ones and ended up at this one. It completely blocked the road to our camp site. Even though the 660 would have made short work of the bucking I used the 090 just for fun...

Need some guidance with my 026

In my personal experience with the same carb, I found the only solution was to put on the WT194. The saw has run like a dream ever since, and it allowed me to MM it as well. Later a dealer in my area said that some of the gas around my town has 20% ethanol and he has seen it corrode the carb...

    Racing/High Octane/Aviation Fuel in Chainsaws?

On the last trip to the airplort the pumps were down so they had me walk through the terminal to the gas truck with my cans empty and then full! I love small town airports!

    Racing/High Octane/Aviation Fuel in Chainsaws?

AV GAS for me. I used to have rubber issues every year and now none since switching to AV GAS. The saws run richer and with less pop. No I don't need 100 octane or lead but I love that it doesn't go bad or break down rubber. Think of all the people in LA who didn't die of lead poisoning back...

Oil ratio and how often you tune

I use 100LL and cut at about 1000' elevation all the time in temps from 50-100 degrees. My 346xp and Still 090 always run perfect and the MS660R likes a little adjustment every few months.

    My reflections of A.S.

First of all I live in the USA and think people can speak their mind even if I don't agree. But if your going to be dumb, you'd better be tough! Everybody laughs at the class clown but nobody wants to be in a class of clowns. Personally I'm not a fan of "search" as an answer. I would either...

    Got A Ms260 today.

Make sure it has an L and H adjustment on the carb.

Do you have a pic of 100LL with red oil?

I bought some av gas today and I forgot how pale its blue tint is. Here's a pic of Motul 800 2t 50/1 next to straight av gas. Mission complete there is no blue whatsoever.
