10-10s manufacturer rec'd carb settings: does anyone know what they are?

    aluminum hard hats

I gues I'll have to get by with a China stamp on my hat.

    aluminum hard hats

I think similar forces may be at play regarding McCleod tool prices. About $60 to $100, and all the fire departments and agencies need them so they set the prices high. Makes a guy wonder.

Yeah, I have seen Heimann's over in the Mac sticky

It looks like the rivets ontop the new ones is for reinforcing the top.

    aluminum hard hats

What's the scoop on the China-made aluminum hard hats? It is what it is I guess. I need one for later this summer but its place of manufacture gives me the willies. So what's the word from people who actualy wear one? Thanks.

    Husky Guy Bought a Stihl

Conspiracy theory: That seems a shade high. Your alls bar oil is $5 a gallon, but they are gouging you on the chains? I am paying under $20 for 28" worth of Oregon round ground full-skip chisel, just sayin'. Or did I mss something?

You could probably start charging people to have a look at your Mac collection.

    Rim Sprockets and Filing Guides

Granberg file-n-joint is what I use. Its not sintered steel, but hey, the saw cuts good. There was some break in time on my FJ and it files & adjusts much smoother now after 2 or three years,

Why do some or most high end chainsaws do not have a purge bulb?

I figured it was a gimmick for homeowners. I am not alone in my estimation as I can see. I don't use the thing anyways on my 460 Rancher. Compression release is also a laugher.

    Stihl vs. Husky........

How much do you value making comments like "I have nards of Stihl"? Is is it a deal breaker to settle for Husqvarna? Or is Le Poulan-Rouge more your style? You can't hide a crap saw. Chevy and Ford blah blah blah--so many are not even used like a truck. But most of us still (STIHL?) use chainsaws.

    Big knotty rounds.

You know, "noodle" was not in my vocabulary before I joined AS. If it don't split easy I rip it so that it does. And I don't mess with that if I can lift it. My splitter is a beast with a 2-stage pump. Not to bragg, but it will crush through anything!

    Canola oil as bar lube

Do you wipe it on & off with a rag or do you apply it more heavily on the steel? I just bought a gallon the other day, so I cannot claim to reject the stuff 100 percent.

    Canola oil as bar lube

I never used more than my own dirty hands to condition a tool handle with, but I got into fixing up old tools and axes and I thought I would give BLO a try since it is mentioned in some back-to-the-land type publications and is all over the Internet as well. I don't use it on the tools I...

    Big knotty rounds.

I guess I have it easy--I ran a small amount of bug kill Ponderosa pine through my hydro splitter the other day. Those rounds look like a pretty good workout.

    Old Saws for milling

I can see that being a problem--it happens to me when I am cutting fire wood already.

    Canola oil as bar lube

I am not entirely sold on the virtues of Boiled Linseed Oil for treating tool handles...I would welcome an experiment with canola to see how it fares.

    Apple?! Who knew?

I have been wondering of Hickory is not a little overrated for handles. I may have to try an apple handle if I ever get around to making some handles.
