    Pro Fab out of business

Dealer said they were over whelmed with creosote issues on the new stoves and leaks on the older ones. Basically giving away stoves left and right under warranty. Pro Fab did absolutely nothing to try and resolve issues with stoves, every issue you had to fight tooth and nail to get some sort of...

    Pro Fab out of business

Unfortunately in the nanny state of NY we can only have phase 2 compliant stoves. I'll run this one until it craps out I guess since it's paid for but it ran like garbage last year due to the stove making too much creosote which then runs down the wall, into the air duct and stick the blower...

    Pro Fab out of business

Talking with my cousin who works with a guy who also has an Empyre stove. His buddy has had nothing but problems with his, was working with Pro Fab to get them resolved. Went to call them and the phones were disconnected. Ended up getting a hold of the guy he had been dealing on his cell. He...

Arctic blast still blasting here in the Southern Tier of Upstate NY ...

Sucks it's gonna be back in the 50-60's within a few days. I was hoping for a nice cold start to gun season, bow season has been terrible.

    In need of advice

I dunno about that. I suppose one could make the argument for new motor oil since it is meant to lubricate moving motel parts but used oil is all used up. My Stihl dealer actually doesn't even carry the Stihl bar oil. They recommend the Husqvarna oil. Say it's cheaper and works just the...

    Big 'ol Oak

I always wish I could watch time lapse footage and see what some of these old trees have seen.

Aug 1st-it won't be long now...

I don't usually start my OWB until about the week of Thanksgiving. My furnace also has an electric coil in it so if I need to just take the chill out of the air I use that until it's time to fire up the beast.

    bees

Just had this problem myself. Was out cutting at the log pile and noticed a bunch of bees. Finally located their nest attached to the bottom of one of the logs. Sprayed it and knocked it down without getting stung. Very next day out cutting again, cut through a log, chunk falls to the ground and...

    What's The Best OWB?

I just replaced an old Taylor and went through the whole decision making process. Really most all the new stoves are good quality wise (CB, Heatmor, Empyre, etc) it just comes down to dealer. I ultimately went with a Empyre pro 200 because: - It was the simplest. I didn't like the Starfire...

    Owb temp?

I don't know that it hurts anything but I can't believe they were designed to run like that.

    Owb temp?

I just got an Empyre Pro 200 installed this past Saturday, upgraded from an ancient Taylor. I had it set at the max (180) but it was going up to 196-198 before it finally leveled off which I felt was too hot. I since bumped it down to 175 which is working better. It drops down to 168 before the...

OWB circulator pump - 24/7 or on demand?

Mine runs on demand. Only down side is a short blast of cold air when forced air furnace fires up but it doesn't bother me. I just don't see the need for everything to be circulating when I don't need heat.

Home owners insurance is going replacing my OWB

Just wanted to update this.....Oddly enough I have decided to go with the Empyre Pro 200 lol As I explained before I wasn't real happy with the Empyre dealer so I called Pro Fab and asked for the next closest dealer because I really wanted to look at an actual stove and explained why I...

    dump trailer

Check out Griffin trailers. I'm not sure if you have a dealer in your area but I think they are the best out there. Comes standard with a lot of features (D rings, LED lights, 10ga steel, powder coated, 24" sides, ramps which are mounted in rubber mounts so they don't rattle, 3 way gate, dual...

Home owners insurance is going replacing my OWB

Apparently my wonderful state also restricts OWB's and only certain models are approved for use. Of the three brands I have it narrowed down to these are the only ones that make the cut: Empyre Pro series 200 Central Boiler E-classic 1400 and 1450 Heatmor 200 SSR II I also don't think...

Home owners insurance is going replacing my OWB

I'm running into some confusion with Empyre. Is it this one: EmpyreOutsideWoodStove or this one: Wood Burning Stoves | Wood Furnace | Outdoor Furnace | Outdoor Wood Stoves - Home
