    How Many Chains

I know a local guy like that. I was fixing a couple of his saws and ask about the chains. He said he cuts till dull and tosses in a pile and grabs another new one. Back then I got 5 for a 24 under chain. He was like how many you feel like doing. I was like I hate doing chains myself as it is...

    Husqvarna Sticky!

Must be doing something right. Picked up a 1 owner 1986 61 from original owner this morning. I usually pass on the 61's. But just wanted to see why folks always wanted these ones. Little heavy to me for cc. But they do cut fine. Working metal chain brake still too. Wiped down the oiled fines...

    Husqvarna 346 OE 45cc Echo 490 50cc

Might have to keep this 45cc 346 first year 1999. I forgot how well they run. Compared it to my hacked ported echo 490 50cc with 3/4" pipe muffler mod. The 45cc was right there with it stock and quite as can be. Husky with coil spring antivibe was so much smoother too. Copy paste from group...

So question of the day did poulan ever make any good reliable chainsaws or weedeaters etc

I like the lighter mag case series the best. Sold the crap out of those to locals. Sweden cranks etc. 46cc, 49cc, 54cc 60cc Just a coupe 54cc 49cc

Mentioning bows. Some saws I sold in past here. Local friend put bow bars on both due to his back and not having to lean over. I tell you what running that 371/372 with a bow is scary. IMO bows meant for slower saws. The 026 pro was woods ported by Dan Henry way back when.

    Husqvarna Sticky!

Pics before decals I ordered for both sides. Can only get later OE decal for recoil now. Not the early one. Just air and brush cleaned. Not bad for 25 years. I think the fines and oil preserved it. :drinkingcoffee:

Pro is just a name today. Plastic strato bs anymore. Biggest dang turds IMHO. Always getting them in for lines, carbs, etc. Now I think they are black. Sold as 2 different saws. But same cc.

    How Many Chains

I have a couple rolls of 100' and a 25' rolls too. So that can make a few extra loops too to what ever drive link count I want. Add that to the used and new loops in above pic.

    "You Suck" Thread 2023"--Pics required!

Broke down and bought a first year 346xp OE yesterday. Just because it was the first year made 1999. They dont make the early recoil decal or even a repop yet. So ordered the later OE decals to do for now. Just trying to make it right for the collector buyers out there that might want a first...

    Husqvarna Sticky!

I've owned a many of the 346 OE NE and 353 OE NE and 351 saws over the years. But this is first one I bought yesterday because of the year made. First year 1999 346xp OE.

Now back little further. Gen1 Gen2 Gen3 of these were good. I only went for their big ones in those 85cc.

So question of the day did poulan ever make any good reliable chainsaws or weedeaters etc

Only the mag cased saws made by actual poulan to me were the good ones to get made up till 2007 PP330 was last ones. If I recall the year right. Their later plastic stuff in strato is crap. Some of the ones shown say poulan done by partner, pioneer and dolmar. Good saws too 330 poulan. 325...

    6 spline vs 7 spline

7 spine 404 in 7T can take pic of the 8T in 7 spline 404 if needed. But I think he is talking where it mounts. Just not sure. - Yep he talking mount.

    6 spline vs 7 spline

Are you talking 6 7 spline for where it mounts on drum or you asking about 6T 7T where your drive links on chain ride? Spine inside rim and other is outside rim? These are 7 spline with different counts in 8T 9T

What is your favorite source of aftermarket parts for old Stihls?

Never tried his carbs. But in my chainsaw repair group the feedback by others is perfect on them. I just use the seals he sells too.

Attempting my very first F#@$%@ng seal replacement 385xp , need advice!

    I dont recall any o-ring on a 385-390. Only on a 372 362 371 365.

    338 XPT won't idle

I really liked the 338's and all they needed was a muffler mod. To me they had the best balance etc using. Even over my 200T. I just didnt care for how the 338's were built though. But it worked. Ended up selling all 3 when the 540 came out. Boy that was a kick in the nads. Wished I would...
