Golly gosh fellas, I feel like you're ignoring me! And if there's one thing that just drives me up the wall....it's ignorance!:wink2: How can I edit my previous post? Chris got his piston, no need for that paragraph.

Hi guys! First off, I know you've all been on the edge of your seats wondering so I'll just tell you.....the fishing was GREAT!! This looks like THE thread for all things pistons, so I'm just gonna hijack it a couple of different directions (my apologies to the o.p.). Haven't been here for...

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

I'm enjoying this thread, and really appreciate everybody's input! I won't be able to add anything to it for a couple of days though, because family is coming in from out of town and we're going to be busy killing Salmon! Possibly TUNA this weekend if they are reasonable and show up like I...

    The tree officer

I really enjoyed that! It was both hilarious and sad, at the same time.

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

Nope, not fair at all! But the truth is, Business's of all kinds have been leaving (RUNNING) the state in droves for years. This state is known to be the absolute worst place in the nation to try to run any kind of business. Well, I do REALLY like guacamole.... I might make out o.k. on this...

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

O.K., just googled it and read the 2006 "Carb Perp" (gotta love that name!) Sure enough, according to them it is illegal to operate my chipper in Cal. Because they say so. Hmmm... can't seem to find the correct emoticon to express myself right now. So who's selling the grey-market...

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

Sooo..... everybody in California had to get rid of their chippers? And buy new ones? What year chipper qualifies as a "legal" one? I know I've been out of the loop for a while now, but dang! How could I have not heard about this! I feel like the guy in that movie "idiocracy", who wakes up in...

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

So could you give me the nickel tour? What exactly makes a machine out of compliance? Does it have to pass a smog check?

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

No, I don't . I hadn't even heard of those placards until just recently when I started looking around online at equipment. That "carb" designation popped up here and there. What's the story with that? The machines a '99 and met all emissions requirements for that year. Have our fearless...

"Retired" guy finally shedding some equipment

Hi guys I'm finally realizing that I need to shed the rest of my equipment. It's just so danged hard to let go of tools...and a lifestyle. Retired from the tree service industry for the better part of eight years now, and I still have a bucket truck and a chipper that I kept because...well, I...

    Stihl 056 AV Super Manual

Believe it or not, I have a brand new in-the-box piston for an 056 super. It's been sitting on the shelf in a cabinet for well over twenty years. When I clean the barn out and can get to it it's yours if you want it.

    Scratching my head.

That's frustrating, but you can't let it grind on you. Had a lot of similar situations over the years....you just have to laugh and let it go.

    STIHL Vs HUSKY and WHY???

I just found this site and was thinking....Hmmm. Where to put my first post....make a good impression....avoid controversy....not piss anybody off.... The short version: I've got both brands, and the Stihls always worked for us all day every day without drama or breakdown issues and MUCH...
