    ms460 rpm

Possibly, but there are a lot of similar ones around. I tried it again today and i think i have it where i got it. The only thing bothering me is the no coffe on the spark, but it is darker than it was. What say the AS experts, yay or nay? https://www.youtube.com/embed/LDOH5G3t6j8 A video of...

    ms460 rpm

Hey guys, anciend thread but still. I have a 046 pulling a 25" B&C. It has a muff mod. Runs nice, but if i tune it in the 13k rpm range (with chain and no load) the saw runs hot judging by the spark plug. IT rips through wood like mad but the spark gets white-ish. I should play around some...

Anyone got a 070 and a camera near by?

Thanks a bunch guys. So yeah the plastic slider is missing but that wasn't the only problem. Someone wrenched on this thing before me and made a few mistakes, the choke linkage was too short, when i made a new one i realized the gas tubing was in the way, so i replaced and rerouted it. I can't...

Anyone got a 070 and a camera near by?

Now that you said it, i think i do have a little piece of white plastic in my memory from my previous 070. Or maybe you just planted the idea in my hollow head. :( I know i didn't have any problems with the choke lever there. On this one its either too loose/flimsy or if i tighten it down, too...

Anyone got a 070 and a camera near by?

Hi I've been messing with a 070 and i have a problem with the choke lever. I think there is something missing or i'm putting it together wrong. Also a part of lever is home brewed so i'm wondering if anyone has a fully functional 070 and could take a picture of whats going on in there. I'm...

    Difficult saws to work on

Clamshell saws are meant to work and be thrown away when something major breaks down if you ask me. =) I only own one and it is what it is, had to tear down a small husky once i know i had to pretty much tear everything apart to ge to the cyl off..

    Stihl 024 cheap carburetor question

I'll order it and see if i can put it together without altering compensator tube. Thanks for all your input guys.

    Stihl 024 cheap carburetor question

I don't think there is a hole, the original carbs didn't have the tube.

The extra nipple can be chopped off without much harm, right?

    Stihl 024 cheap carburetor question

Hey guys, i have a beat-up 024 that stopped running. It wasn't getting gas so i switched the carb from my 026 and it fired right up. I tried cleaning the carb but still nothing. Probably needs a rebuild buuut that could either work or not, and the tillotson kits i've found are about the same...

Air lock in oil feed for MS250

Like i said i'm not entirely sure, because it doesn't leak enough to notice if you look at it, but if you let it sit for a week there's oil everywhere. :) And once you put the handel bar on you can't see the line anymore, i'm guessing the tube doesn't seal as it should. I did check the vent...

    440 / 044

Had a 044 for a while, i think i liked it more than the 046 i have. One had to go, i kept the 046 because its mint and the 044 was pretty beat up.

Air lock in oil feed for MS250

Im here because i have some related issues on a ms180, i think they have the same oiling system. I changed everything (filter, pick up hose, oil pump, gear is OK) and it oils but not the way it should and it leaks somewhere, but i don't know where. :D

    Instant backfire ?

Tried it again after it cooled down a bit, started right away. Turned it off, and here we are breaking fingers :o Im thinking i mussed have messed up the carb settings.

    Instant backfire ?

I pulled out one of my 070 i bought recently and did some cutting with it yesterday. Was hard to start (these saws are usually easy starters) but ran ok after i adjusted the carb. Tried starting it today and it wouldnt go. I noticed the spark plug was loose, so i tightened it down and it fired...

Stihl MS 170, acting really funny

My advice would be get a new saw for work and then play with this one if you want. With that many hours i'm sure you have more then one problem and a few waiting to happen. I have a worn out ms180 and these things are not meant to be rebuilt.

    543 will be a flop

A friend bought a 543xp, i'm not impressed. I dont think it was tuned right tho, but with those limiters i didn't manage to get anything more out of it either. The way it was running it was a tad faster than my MMed ms180 with 3/8lp.

    stalling saw with choke

As long as the choke really chokes there shouldn't be any problems. If it leaks, you can let it run out of fuel to die. Or maybe readjust the carb every time :P
