    Stein Arbor Trolley Reviews

HA you didn't think I could stack all that brush on one load? Remembering the old days stacking brush on a trailer...... It really is a handy tool, especially for a two man crew

    Uprooted Leyland

I had this happen at a customers house last year. same trees, about the same age, cluster planted in corner of the lot when the stumps came up we noticed the burlap and cage were still attached to the stump :dumb2::dumb2: the lawn guy tried to straighten them up but they wouldn't stay ...

    Storing Climbing Helmets

We hung up a cheap gun rack in the back window of the bucket truck to hang hard hats on. lets them breathe a little and dry at the end of the day (yuck) not sure if you could hang chin-strap type helmets BUT it works for the bigger ones........

took some scrap to the junk yard..made 10 dollars and then came home with this...

you're lucky, my scrapyard won't let us take anything out of the pile, even to pay for it. One time I saw a whole bundle of quarter inch 2x2 tubing, brand new still in the banding.....waiting to be shredded.

    Is there a better way?

yes there is, block and port a wrap to control the friction. that 15" spar could rope it off in 3 or 4 sections with one ground man also the double leads at the top could be roped off each other to lessen weight and height. glad it turned out well for you

Huge White Oak- don't want to kill it

the nice thing about a large machine is he can sit on top of the pile and rake everything to the center to load out trucks. 30 foot of reach means he can stay away from the oak tree. in my opinion 100 trips in and out with the skid steer will cause more compaction than a tracked hoe Maybe...

will spraying poison ivy hurt the trees?

cut the vine at the base with loppers and it will die. no need to spray that part. if it sprouts back you can spot treat the leaves before it gets out of control again. I find the surfactant (I use dawn) added to the glyphosate mix will kill poison ivy vines on the first treatment.

Somethin tells me this is a homeowners work...

well you're not going to learn anything from those pics. Maybe what not to do. They should have left the other leads to rig those tops back towards the street. First. Then cut the easy stuff that can notch and free fall. nothing like making things harder on yourself! Their problem, not yours.

When is a pine tree too dead to climb/rig? (see pictures)

like said above it will fail at the stump. the upper wood will still be solid and dry. I have seen scotch pines fall here after only 1 year dead. The bark isn't even completely off the trunk yet and the tree is down. between wet humid ohio weather and the pine borers chewing the sapwood ...

Stump removal Water Oak 24" diameter

I tend to want to avoid all mattocks as much as possible:laughing: Tell the guy grinding what you are going to build there and have him sweep the area to grind out the roots. Remove all the debris and replace with stone to prep for concrete. This way you wont have any voids /sinking after the...

    Cost of dropping trees

The cost of the tree job should be the same either way . Its the time factor that is different. IF it takes 4 hours climbing @100 per hour or takes 2 hours with bucket @200 per hour, the invoice is the same!

    Bad Prune Job....

Don't forget it will be "bad pruned" on a 5 year cycle. Norway maple is a poor choice of tree under power lines. The upper limbs will sun scald and rot too every time they remove part of the outer canopy. I would start thinking removal and types of replacement trees......
