How to spec a Husky T540i

My boss and I both have the 540i. We are both having the same issue with the break sensor. If we loosen the bar nut it seems to go away. My saw is currently at the local Husqvarna dealer as they investigate. If you find an answer let me know. John

Any bigger Husky battery saw soon?

I have also heard that Husqvarna are designing a battery saw equivalent to a 50cc gas saw.

Any bigger Husky battery saw soon?

I earn a living with my two battery saws. I have the Husqvarna 540i xp and the Stihl msa220. I paid almost $1900 Canadian for the Husqvarna with two 300 series batteries, charger and spare bar and chain. The same package in Stihl was about $1500. Had both saws about a year and a half now. Not...

How to spec a Husky T540i

Had mine for about 16 months. Tried both 16" and 14", prefer the 14". I do property lines with mine. Two of the BLi 300 batteries last me all day.

People don't yet take battery operated chainsaws seriously.

Just to add a couple of points. I was told the Husqvarna BLi 300 batteries could be charged approximately 1100 times to 100% before they slowly reduce the capacity to hold a charge. At 1500 charges they estimate they still should hold 80%. I am sure thats a best case scenario. Time will tell...

People don't yet take battery operated chainsaws seriously.

I was told by the electrician at work, 'a few cents'. I do know I haven't really noticed a difference in my power bill and I usually charge 2 batteries every night.

I chose the BLi 300 series because they pretty much last twice as long. Someone smarter then me will have to weigh in on wether they produce the same power as the BLi 200. I thought the 300 produced more power but might be wrong. I also assumed that the 300 was recommended for the 540i xp. A...

To be exact, the 540i xp, two BLi 300 batteries, the charger, an extra bar with two extra chains cost approximately $1900 Canadian. But I usually spent over $1000 a year on chainsaw gas and mix oil per year before I went battery powered.

I pretty much agree with your post. If one of my battery saws can't handle the job, I usually grab my 572xp or 590xp.

I use my battery saws all the time in the rain. Had my Stihl since June and Husqvarna since July. I use them pretty much everyday and have had no problems yet.

Yes I own the stihl 220 along with two AP 300 S batteries. I also own the Husqvarna 540i xp with two BLi 300 batteries. I use them everyday for work. Both great saws, but I much prefer the Husqvarna.

    Husqvarna 540xp or Stihl 201T?

I have worked in forestry for almost 35 years now. My two favourite chainsaws were Husqvarna's 254's and 372's. I now have a third. The Husqvarna 540i. Make sure you get the BLi 300 battery.

More bad news for two strokes

I have a Husqvarna 540i ordered, it is supposed to be the equivalent of a gas 40cc. My dealer told me months ago they are developing one equivalent to a 50cc. Time will tell.

More bad news for two strokes

You guys aren't going to like this: I have earned my living running gas powered chainsaws for over 30 years. The last 2 months I have run a battery operated chainsaw to earn my living. I still have my gas saws and there are still jobs I will need them, but I will be grabbing the 'battery' saw...

    Electric chainsaws?

I haven't blocked any wood with my MSA 220 yet, but I do get between 2 and 2 1/2 hours per battery cutting out property lines. I have two of the 300 batteries. I agree, when blocking wood I will still use a gas powered saw. I do believe the Husqvarna 540i has the advantage on it's Stihl...

    Electric chainsaws?

I have the Stihl battery powered saw MSA 220. I use it for cutting out property lines. The mill I work for has also ordered me the Husqvarna 540i, but it is on back order. Other saws in my stable are Husqvarna's 550xp, 562xp, 372xp, 572xp and 390xp. I have made a living for over 30 years with...
