    Positive Feed back

Quick and easy swap with Steve. 3 days and we both had what we wanted. Also another good swap with KF tree (who is no longer here).

Is There Any Truth To This Email I Received

Termites nest inside of solid wood. The mulch is chipped up too small for them to live in. As for railroad ties, the creosote doesn't soak all the way through the wood when treated. The core wood is still a suitable environment for termites.

How to remove muffler on MS390

I thought Stihl used those Torx screws on everything? Serves me right for trying to help someone with a question on a homeowner saw.

How to remove muffler on MS390

A screwdriver and the T-27 Torx wrench that came with your saw.

Licensing for Tree Co. in Ohio

Treelady, As much as it pains me, it looks like I am in agreement with Clearance on yet another topic. Before you go petitioning for more regulation in your area, perhaps you might spend some time investigating areas where similar laws have been enacted and what were any positive or negative...

    husky 272 ignition coil

I'm no expert but I believe only the newest 372's have rev limiter coils. I know EHP is swapping out the new 372 coils for the older non-limiting style when he ports a new 372.

    Human Speedline

Tree to tree may be better. Landing area can be 6'-10' off the ground. With rope slack/ stretch, you should optimally start slowing down about 20'-30' from the end so you don't get flicked off the end like a booger off a fingertip.

    mixing oil

Marine mix for marine use, air cooled mix for air cooled use. You need two cans, one for the boat and one for everything else.

    chain file size

I disagree Rick. In my experience, the only ones around here who buy the 13/64" files are the ones who go to the Stihl dealer and buy what they are told to buy. Everyone I know with any substantial experience at all buys the 7/32" files for all 3/8" chain, regardless of manufacturer.

    New Jonsered Arborist saw?

If it's true, then expect it to be a rebadged Husky. Go look at the Husky top handles to see what it will look like. I suspect everything except the name plate will interchange.

perfect size bucket truck for residential

I just bought a rear mount Altec AM600 (56' working height) and in the last 6 months it has come up 5'-10' short too many times to count. I guarantee you that I'll run this one just long enough to pay for a bigger one. Seems like 60' is about the cutoff between the single rear axle trucks and...

Anybody in the Ft. Myers Florida area?

OK, looks like Ft Myers is about 100 miles south of Tampa. That's probably too far to run a grapple truck from Lakeland. Looks like I may end up driving down there and trying to rent or hire local equipment/ haulers. I guess I'll have to figure on two days, one day to drive down and figure it...

Stihl chain RS or RSC which is better

Mostly depends on how you sharpen it. I'd suggest buying a loop of each and seeing how it works for you. Not just when it's new but also how it cuts for you after you've sharpened it halfway down.

Is my I circle hitch right?

Thanks for your insightful opinion, Gary. Very helpful. Here's the Icicle Hitch as shown on Proclimber: Here is the accompanying text: A fantastic new hitch for the up-to-the-minute Arborist. Well not exactly new, it's been around for some time now in the sailing world but only recently...

Is my I circle hitch right?

WTF is an 'I Circle' hitch? Is that the redneck pronunciation of the icicle hitch? The only place I've ever seen or heard of it was over at http://www.proclimber.co.uk/forum/default.asp which is a supplier based in Europe. I haven't looked to see if it's the same hitch. Look up the Icicle hitch...

Stihl chain RS or RSC which is better

I have a roll of RS and a couple loops of RSC that I picked up a week before getting the roll. Running them side by side on identical saws with identical bars, I can't tell a difference in cutting speed. I think the RSC is a little smoother. I cannot identify one from the other by looking at the...

Anybody in the Ft. Myers Florida area?

Hey folks, I just got a call from one of my regular customers. He's a real estate guy and he just bought a property in Ft Myers. There is a large uprooted tree that needs to be cut up and hauled off. He wants me to drive down there and handle it but there isn't much I can do down there without...

    Bucket babies:Are they all slackers?

It's not the employer's fault that you don't have a CDL. If you can't legally transport the truck to the job, then how can you call the employer 'cheap'? Go get your CDL. It isn't your employer's responsibility or fault that you aren't properly licensed.
