    Husky's new climbing saw

also, if husky has such advanced technology, why do they keep putting primer bulbs on their topping saws?

    Husky's new climbing saw

i've chunked down plenty o' big firs and some cottonwoods with a 660 w/36" b&c hangin off my belt. i'm also 6'00" bare footed and weigh in at 215

    Obb ball Oregon bar lengths

If they are 3/8" pitch, I believe, without looking, as I have both, that the 24" bar has 84 drive links and the 28" bar has 91 drive links.

    Revisiting the MS201T

fine work, Brad, fine work. i expect when my 200t dies, i'll be having you mod one of these little buggers for me. really impressive gains by the way from stock, almost can't believe my ears.

    Wedges and Cold Weather

Oh yeah, I forgot about that part.....K&H wedges also break super easy. i think they're crap. the madsens' wedges really hold up and I'm 6'0" about 215 and use a 5 lb. axe with a 36" handle. plus, i grind the hell out of'em when they get all mushroomed over. i have a mag wedge, it's a driver...

    Wedges and Cold Weather

i don't like paying for k&h wedges and didn't particularly care for the way they drive. i only buy madsens house brand wedges now. they're cheaper and they really drive like a mother!

    Mac-T Thread

I'm not entirely certain about the last part, "That style will be hard to find." Are you talking about original style Mac T suspensions? Because Madsens has them new. They're not very expensive either. Just thought that might help if you happen to be looking for that particular item.

    Late Christmas present to AS

it's an alright vid, seen it before. if you want to see something really impressive check out jasha's video where he felled a 7'2" doug fir snag with a 066 and a 42" bar. he makes it look amazingly easy, beavering around the tree with his face cut and back cut. perfectly lined up corners and no...

Can anyone recommend me some solid pulley blocks please? Or school me on em? Tks.

also, i have one of those chinese blocks that is a 6ton and looks exactly like the ones you've got, cept mine is orange. but i've been happy with it so far for lowering large branches and hanging tops out of trees, i use 3/4" bull line in it and it does great. i realize this is totally off base...

    Anyone use a 404 sprocket on a Stihl 460?

On a 046, 460 whatever... 3/8 is cheaper, has a narrower kerf which makes it easier to pull for the smaller saws. Even though all my saws are ported and double dumped, I'd still never run .404 on my 46. The rigidity which you are looking for in the bars is an easy answer. It simply depends on...

    3/8" pitch chain??????

madsens' is in centralia washington. they ship everywhere. they have catalogs and a website, they have everything including reels of 75cj. sometimes they even have sales on it. they're usually very competitive on price because they deal in huge volumes. EDIT: moderator removed inline link to...

    Cut marks left on log

You see any track or wheel marks in the ground around there? there would be obvious signs and way more trees than that one if someone was in there with a machine. that being said i've been around logging for quite a while. i've watched feller bunchers ( we call 'em shears usually ) and dangle...

    201T mod problems.

I have had my 200t apart quite a few times and i use tape and dental picks to get all the little throttle connecting rods to stay in place when i'm reassembling. it can be maddening. i much prefer working on my 460 and 660....they're so easy to work on......i smashed my 460 up good once and put...

    GRRRRR stihl air filter

on my ms660 i run a max flow air filter kit and i think it works great. that being said my point is to service something like my max flow (even though i know you're running a stock filter) i use the notoil system. which is a reputable manufacturer of air filter products for dirt bikes primarily...
