Stump removal of overturned 30" locust

Yeah, there's people I've met that I wouldn't want anyone coming back at me for dumping them on. We should have Angie's List for customers attached to caller ID. That way we'd know who's bat **** crazy as soon as they called and we could just not ever talk to them in the first place.

Stump removal of overturned 30" locust

Either way, the hole is going to settle over time and more fill and more seed will be needed. The last thing you want is this guy coming back for free refills because your "work" didn't last to his satisfaction. We had a large 3-trunk basswood on the side of the parking pad at our cabin...

    First Stump Grinder

We don't have flying bloodsucking insects for 6-7 months out of the year. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

    First Stump Grinder

We got 12" of sugar-sand consistency snow last week, and finding stumps is "hit and miss" quite literally now. I'm going to wait for the snow to melt before I worry about grinding anything.

    First Stump Grinder

Less DEET needed to keep the bugs from sucking you dry too! :p I really don't mind working in the 20's and 30's unless there's a clip of wind. Long john's and a pair of good gloves goes a long way. After the first couple weeks of Feb being -20F when I had to give daily instructions to the...

    First Stump Grinder

Is there much difference in grinding a dormant frozen stump than a thawed one? I just had my place logged and I've got about 8-10 acres of stumps to whack. Was thinking I could start in on them before the ground got gooey and at least make some headway before the heat of summer kicks in.

    The Problem with Normal People

Ulnar nerve impingement release (thus the pen marks). I've actually had it done in both elbows, and it was certainly among my least fun of 10 surgeries to date.

    Mass planting bare root trees

Roundup 7 days prior to planting. You can plant into landscape fabric if you want something longer term.

    harbor freight log splitter

Wouldn't be hard to re-engineer so it used a standard cylinder. Then again, not everyone has a machine shop at their disposal.

    harbor freight log splitter

Hydraulic cylinders are cheap; even the big ones. Surplus Center's website should make you happy if you need one.

    firewood tractors

I used to be in the "save the hours" camp, but I can run my 2.9L tractor all day on a few gallons of diesel when a gas thumper is sucking down way more $$$ in gas to make less flow. Not tying up the machine is the only reason I still have a gas splitter.

    Echo CS-2511T, CS-271T or CS-355T

My 355T has a lot of torque and wouldn't be a good option for overhead work. One-handed is not ideal with any top handle (or rear handle for that matter), and is not something people who care about their safety do on a routine basis (sometimes you have no choice). Your sawzall option is a good...

That's when you use wedges. If the come-along works for you, great. :)

Funniest post in the thread. :D

What to do with all the branches/limbs on the ground?

How big of property and how much slash are we talking about? I burn stuff I want gone quickly. Use the ash on your garden.

Green Ash dilemma - take it down or not?

These little suburban fire pit things need to come in bigger sizes... Three burn days later. The slash is gone and the trunk has safely landed. After tending the burn all day (about 7 hours worth today), I was having muscle spasms and really shouldn't have dropped it but I couldn't...

    The Problem with Normal People

That was ulnar nerve translocation. Doc made the squiggly cut because he had to peel my skin back to re-route the wiring. ;) I've got a matching one on my left arm.

You haven't been reading the replies close enough if you think that. :p

    The Problem with Normal People

I never counted; I've got two industrial sewing machines and it's way over 185. :p Oh you mean in you... I've never counted those either but I've had a couple surgeries over the years.

Swung this one and it didn't even have a complete trunk at the hinge.
