    Much appreciated! Cheers!

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

Thanks, I did look at it, but I'll give it a closer inspection when I put the saw back together. Cheers!

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

Thanks, I have both of those PDFs, they are very useful. My saw is the earlier saw, it has no chainbrake, one reason I like to use it only on the mill, safer. Cheers!

    Husqvarna 3120XP Carb Question...?

Hi Ken! Nice to know I'm not the only foreign guy in the Tokyo area that owns chainsaws! LOL Chigasaki? I was just down at Oiso and I slabbed up that burl. I had to do an ugly thing and buy a cheap Chinese saw to get the work done, but hey, it will pay for itself with the wood from that one...

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

Thanks for the reply, I was worried about the wire grounding out, I'm sorry the picture is a bit out of focus, but it does not look like it was grounding out, no burnt areas. I can get the waterproof kind of Heat Shrink Tube, maybe that is a little more durable? I'll add this to the list of...

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

Oh, one more thing. The wire that goes from the armature to the on/off switch has seen better days. Suggestions on fixing this? It still has continuity, but I thought at the very least I should take the end off that attaches to the switch and maybe put a piece of heat shrink tubing over it...

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

Thanks for the reply. OK lets rule out ignition. The carb is brand new, never used from Tillotson in Ireland, new out of the box, OK it sat in a box in my workshop for 4 years. You are correct there is no pulse line, but a passage that is part of the carb block on the intake side of the...

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

I just realized that that Mityvac I have (MV8000) is vacuum only, I will get the MV8500 so I can do a pressure test on this saw to see if the seals or something else is leaking. I'm going back to Canada on vacation soon, I'll pick it up then, as well as some parts for the 185CD (if I can find...

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

OK I'll do my best to tell you all I know about the saw and try to explain what is happening. The saw is a 1976 Husqvarna 185CD I bought it used in 2006. I built a mill for it to slab up a bunch of logs I got locally. Back then I had problems with it, and I rebuilt the carb, it ran great, and...

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

I apologize Mike, my bad. I'll do my best to ask you very good questions, I'll answer in-line in BOLD Trust me that I am not yelling, just trying to answer in a way that is clear. I will answer the last part of the question in a response to the next post you made. Cheers

Setting The Air Gap On Husky 185CD Flywheel/Coil

OK I don't understand how to do this. This is the flywheel off my Husky 185CD saw, the spark is weak, so I thought I'd check it out, there was some build up shmoo, but not much. I'm wondering if the air gap needs to be reset or checked...? I got the flywheel off, but how the heck do you check...

    Husqvarna 3120XP air leak

I've been having problems getting my 3120XP running and I've been looking for solutions online, I did see a video that showed an older 3120 saw that had a primer bulb on it..? Could it be that? Cheers

    Husqvarna 3120XP Carb Question...?

Greetings from downtown Tokyo Japan. Yes I own 5 chainsaws and live in downtown Tokyo, LOL (OK three of them are electric, but I did say I live in downtown Tokyo, right?) I recently got the chance to pick up a large burl from a client's property that is about 2 hours south of me down near...

Husqvarna 185CD Head Bolts NOT Metric....?

Thanks, that is what I thought too. Now I wait for parts, I have a new carb on order from Tillotson, and a bunch of other bits and pieces, rings, a new fuel filter etc, when I get the parts I hope to put this old saw back together and get another 38 years out of it :D

Husqvarna 185CD Head Bolts NOT Metric....?

I thought about that, but I've never done that before, if I were to screw it up, finding another cylinder might be a bit difficult......

Husqvarna 185CD Head Bolts NOT Metric....?

Pics of the inside of the cylinder.... Top of the cylinder, fairly clean now Intake side, that black mark is not a scratch, you cannot feel it at all, it will come off with some more green scrubby pad action I'm sure, unless that is somehow a bad idea...? Exhaust side The sides...
