What’s the most desired brand and model chainsaw?

I'm not laughing. I bought a little Stihl MSA 120 c and it quickly became the house favorite out of five. I never thought I'd see my wife with a chainsaw in her hands, but she's not afraid of it. She was even scared of the little Stihl 190T. I think it's the engine noise...

I already bought the 372. My strategy now is to drag my feet... :)

I think I may have the early stages of this CAD you all speak of!!

LOL! I have three Stihls and an Echo pole saw. I sorta promised my wife to get rid of one to buy my 372xp. (She has me on a "buy new tool - get rid of one" - she doesn't understand.) I think she's figured out the Stihls aren't going to go... :)

Best Approach to Clearing Boxelder Trees

This has come up in connection with other stumps. It you decide to cut and treat, treat immediately. The stump seals itself off very quickly...

    advice needed killing poplar saplings/stumps

We live about two blocks from the park. The Roundup brush killer will work. Roundup week killer won't. If you're familiar with Monte Sano, the bunkhouse for the old dummy line crews lies just off my property. My privet problem comes from a hedge they planted back in the 19th century...

    advice needed killing poplar saplings/stumps

That will do it, if you keep spraying. I have three wooded acres on top Monte Sano in Huntsville. At one point, probably one acre of it was in privet. At a certain point, nothing survives but the privet. A lot of them were closer to being trees. Cutting and treating was the only practical option...

    advice needed killing poplar saplings/stumps

I used to cut it also but found that, diluted, it wouldn't keep privet down. I finally just started using the concentrate right out of the container. That worked...

How long do you dry your firewood before burning?

My system also. I burn from the front of the shed to the back. Each spring, the old wood moves to the front and the newer wood comes in the back. I'm overloaded at the moment and have a bunch in the open...

    advice needed killing poplar saplings/stumps

I had a client whose neighbor Spiked a nice sized tree on a lake near here. The perp's house was downhill. There was a circle of brown around the tree and then a brown path down hill, pointing towards the poisoner's garage...

    advice needed killing poplar saplings/stumps

I have a similar problem, but with privet, which has almost a 200 year head start and is hardier than poplar. The trunks range up to about 5" in diameter. We cut them as close to the ground as possible and then paint them immediately with either Roundup brush killer or Bayer, using the...

First Time Chain Saw Purchaser Questions

From the description of what he wants, I'd second the recommendation for trying the new battery saws. All the manufacturers are making them. I just happen to pick the Stihl MSA120 and it has so much torque, it's edging out my smallest Stihl trim saw. Also, it can sit forever - no worries about...

    Tsumura bar gauge question...

It was on the replaceable tip. Thanks. I pulled the clutch cover and uncovered the engraving on the bar, which clearly says ".50". As I said, the .50 chain seems to fit snugly and firmly in the saw groove. However, that doesn't explain the page from their site, which doesn't advertise a separate...

    Tsumura bar gauge question...

OK, just bought a new Husqvarna 372xp, after years of running nothing but Stihls, which all, except the little electric saw, run .63. I bought a Tsumura lightweight bar off eBay (I know, I know), advertised as .50. I got it, mounted it and looked at the engraving. There it was, clear as day -...
