Got this for free, found it in my wife's uncle's shed.. No markings or serial numbers anywhere that I can find..I've looked everywhere. A spray of carb cleaner in the carb and some fresh gas and it fired up and runs mint. One of the louder saws I've ran.. Has a 24" b/c and seems to pull it just...
Stumbled across a DHT 30T on clearance at Lowes for $999.. scooped that right up and love it!! Started on 2 pulls when it was 11° a couple weeks ago. Cant go wrong for the $. Has split everything I've ever put through it, including some 30" hickory rounds.. Light enough to maneuver by hand, and...
Picked up this Husky 50 literally for free. It was in 100 pieces, in a box with random other Husky parts. Spent the last few months tinkering and putting things back together. Also utilized the jug for my first real porting attempt.. Didnt go wild, just widened the intake and exhaust ports and...
I've richened it on both screws to the point it wont start or run..same symptoms tho. Going to pull the boot off and make sure I didnt damage it somehow when installing it. It was a challenge..and make sure the white plastic ring is seated properly or replace it with a metal clamp of some sort.

I'm sure its fuel related. Bought the carb parts from a dealer, its 5min away and I had it now, not waiting for shipping.. Thinking of replacing the carb itself with new guts from kit.
As far as case goes, I sealed it with Dirko the same way I've done dozens of other Stihl clamshells. It's...
So I recently acquired a nice condition ms390 20" from a desparate friend for next to nothing in trade.. It sat for quite some time, so it was long overdue for service. I certainly know my way around engines, so I went into it thinking it would be easy.
After a piston and ring kit, carb...
Go for the obvious things first. Fresh mix, new plug, clean/new filter, no mouse nest in muffler, no cracks in coil wire to plug, no cylinder scoring in cylinder etc etc..
Not trying to insult your intelligence, just suggesting common issues.
My two go-to's are my 038 Super (67cc) 24" and my Jonsered 2054 (54cc) 18". If I cant cut it with either of those, I come back the next day with my 372xp (72cc) 24" and my son limbs with my 011av. I've never had a problem filling my truck and trailer or tractor with any of those..
