    Finally picked up a 500i

Yeah, I saw a video - probably on the Westcoast Saw YouTube, where they explained leaving out the middle spike works well for big firs and redwoods. Oddly enough when I went to the website I didn't see a pair for the 500i but I've seen videos of them being run on 500s. So maybe they're...

Chainsaw Safety Boots sizing question for wide feet

I got a pair of these Haix boots - they come in wide sizes and half sizes too so you should be able to find your fit. I got 12W and the were surprisingly comfortable out of the box, if a bit garish. They come in red and orange but those are still pretty bright. Get 'em dirty and they'll end...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

Stihl HP Super (black bottle) is JASO-FD certified, it's on the list on the JASO website. I don't recall ever using it but I may have - anyone have experience with it?

    Bel-Ray H1R Redux

Does anyone have any experience with the other Bel-Ray 2T premix oils? MC-1 and SL-2, specifically.

    Bel-Ray H1R Redux

It seems that some of the old two-stroke rules of thumb were established when high-octane leaded gas was the norm, and have persisted regardless of modern changes in fuels and lubricants. I don't know how the old hi-test leaded would have influenced the optimum oil ratio, but I expect it...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

Is this NOS, or is it still in production overseas? I'd like to try it but if the supply is close to exhaustion I'll have to find something else anyway.

    Why an axe?

Because after spending a bunch of money on a Wetterling Scandanavian Forest Axe because it was so dang cool, I felt like I better get some use out it? And BTW it's awesome.

Newbie Jonsered 2095 Rebuild or not?

Correction - after I thought about it, a hone with aluminum still in the cylinder would just clog up the stones. Your best shot is to keep at it with the acid - I've done it, and it takes patience.

Newbie Jonsered 2095 Rebuild or not?

I would strongly recommend against a lathe - most don't run true enough to accomplish what you're trying to do, without ruining your cylinder. If the muriatic acid still leaves buildup you might try a light hone, depending on the condition of the cylinder. Give the acid time to work, as...

Nice score! Get the big felling dogs for that saw - it looks ridiculous with that little bumper spike.
