Want to Buy 066 or 660 pre Mtronic

Just like title states. Older 066 or early 660. No MTronics Something in or around Indiana. North central would be great. No production saws unless they are mint and prefer stock or very close to it. I’m picky about shape of my equipment. Call or text is best way to reach me 574-7two7-5two64...

    Old school wood burning stoves

Man been a while since I’ve been on here. This is what is in the house we just moved into. Sure eats a lot of wood. edit: it’s a Big Moe all nighter model. Will take 28” logs. Very well built stove. Much better than my Vermont Dutch west I had. Even if it does eat more wood.

New stove, what would you choose?

Been busy driving truck for harvest time but I’m still doing research. TONS of good info here. I’m leaning towards a drolet at this time just for the price point of nothing else. jotul is just out of my price range at this time. The comment about the uninsulated chimney stands true for any...

New stove, what would you choose?

Lot of good opinions here so far. My chimney is brick with stainless insulated flex liner in it also. Which helps a lot for draft. My original stove just was awful.

New stove, what would you choose?

Thanks for all the opinions. I will look into tall these and see whats available locally. There is a local joutl dealer. Maybe see what they have to offer. Seems some people have better luck with different brands of stoves, but i think it is all dependent on the house and layout, and the type...

New stove, what would you choose?

I checked the 30nc and it seems a bit small for what I'm wanting. Bigger is always better to me with stoves.

New stove, what would you choose?

I checked menards online. Special order item only but they list the one I'm looking for. That will be nice.

New stove, what would you choose?

Closest northern tool is about 200 miles away. I have a menards 30 minutes away. We may stroll through there tomorrow and see what they have to offer. Buying one from a box store would sure make it simple. We are on pace to sell the house anyway so cost is most important to me at this point...

New stove, what would you choose?

I am finally in the market for a new stove. 2500+ sq ft home, stove is in dining room central located in house. Needs to handle 18-20" pieces. Prefer no reburn or catalyst style if I can get away from it. Obviously price is a concern, but after spending what I did on this first stove I'm under...

Talk me out of a Vermont Castings Stove

ill save you alot of money and headache. Coming from someone who bought one brand new and burnt it for 3 years and its now scrap iron. buy any other brand than VC. There quality has went down hill tremendously since they have changed hands so much. After 3 years the stove is total junk. It has...

    Covering Wood - Timeline

I stack outside on pallets. Never cover any of it. It dries within a year and if it rains or snows that's just part of it. I bring in 1/2 cord at a time and my wood racks are next to the stove. Rain/snow whatever else is on them is gone within a few hours. Never hurt anything and its a lot less...

ban on selling owb's in ohio

I'm curious once you buy a meter what your moisture content on the wood you've had stored indoors will be. When I started my first year I stored all mine in the barn. Figured with all the wind and being out of the weather it would dry. Boy was I wrong. It was about as green as when I cut it...

ban on selling owb's in ohio

This is exactly right. A select few drag the rest of us with them. But then again that is America for you. A couple idiots in charge can drag down an entire country by doing whatever they choose. I agree with getting rid of non efficient OWB. Perfect example. my neighbor who is a half mile...

How do I safely bring down these trees?

I meant for handling after they're down. I'm not chaining any of my equipment to a tree that isn't down. You just never know and a tree will win over most trucks/tractors.
