How are you guys removing burrs off of freshly sharpened chain?

how are you sharpening it? clean the file, or clean the grinder wheel. I dont worry about them, they'll come off in the cut.

Walbro carbs on Stihl Ms260 (failing)

Had to replace both of my 026 WT194 carbs, no matter how many times I gutted & cleaned them, even with new OEM carb kits they still wouldn't run right. Took a chance on some $12 chinesium carbs from Amazon and they run great now.

What’s your story about chainsa I regret

my parents have always burned wood long before I was around, as a young kid I helped my dad split & stack what I could pick up. As I got older I started bucking logs with his Husqy 51. I bought my Husqy 450 in '09, greatly reduced the amount of cutting time spent. In '11 or '12 I picked up my...

what method do you use to tune your saw?

I adjust the L for solid idle & acceleration, adjust the H for WOT burble (usually stay a little rich), make a long cut or 2 to see if it four strokes & adjust the H if needed. This method has worked for me for the last 10+ years or so & haven't burned one up yet.

    2-Stroke Mix Oil

a while back I used up the last of my Husq XP that I had stock piled, bought & started using XP+. I mix it at 45:1 with Shell 93 oct just like the old XP and so far so good. Only differences I've noticed are the "sweet" smell & its a lighter blue color when mixed. Between cutting sunday & mostly...

stihl 026 in a puddle of oil

could be oil pickup hose, the oil pump inlet is cone shaped & just sits in the oil pickup tube flange. probably dried up/cracked & slowly leaked overtime. easy fix, or just leave it alone & run it.

    Chainsaw bar dressing tools

I use an Oregon tool to square the rails, then a flat file for the edges/nose. I use an air nozzle to clean out the grooves & oil holes. being a Machinist by trade doesn't help matters lol

    New chain grinder. Angles?

25/55/10 on everything. I'll soak my chains in old gas/kerosene, grind, then "rinse" them off with gas/kerosene & hang them to drip off. I touch the rakers up when I put them on the saw. If I'm not going to use them right away I'll soak them in ATF for a few mins, let them drip off & put them away.
