    Vermeer 630B

The cutter wheel. He bought it 3 years ago and I guess some of the bolt threads are worn from previous owner. Not 100% sure of the reason, but said he was going to have to replace it before long. He replaced bearings and belt after he got it, which was expensive. But he is fairly happy with it...

    Vermeer 630B

My dad has a 630B grinder. He's needing to buy a new wheel before long. Is there anyplace to order one that would be cheaper than the dealer he drives 50 miles to? And would anyone know how much they cost? Any info would be appreciated. Bob

    Jonsered 910E

The 910 used conventional rings, the 920 and 930 used thin rings. They would gum up fairly easy. The 910 also used a different ignition system. Both these 920 and 930's were fine saws, but I would rather have the 910. Just my 2 cents. Bob

    Bar Sprocket Greasing

This is exactly what I do. I also using a piston stop grease the needle bearings weekly during cutting season. Never hurts to keep your tools clean and lubed.

Big Oak Tree's that need to go

I have a good 5 foot Burr Oak about 4 foot away from my foundation. This house has been in my wife family for 3 generations. It has a 8 inch root through the old thick brick foundation that was cut off before we move in. I guess whoever planted it didn't know these trees get large when grown...

    Homelite 550

Eye bolts and chain, will help folks from stealing your saws when you run into the grocery store or wherever. I had some vanish out of the back of my pick-up several years ago also. That really cuts into the pocket book quick. Don't let them get your 550. And they will be eyeballing it. Bob

What is the best oil for 32:1?

Years ago I bought 16:1, that way you could double the gas and have 32:1. At least your not wanting to use SAE 30W 1 QT. to 5 gal of gas. Many guys still run 32:1 in older saws. Just no ethenol in the gas, and use good quality oils. Bob

How bad is running 50/1 mix in 40/1 saw?

I run 50:1 Stihl orange in all my saws, new and old. Have for years with no problems. I make sure I run gas without ethenol in it. I have XL-12's, lots of older Jonsereds 111S, 80, 70E' 49SP,490, Might have to re-adjust the carb a tad. Bob

Anyone still have a running 70E?

Which fan wheel you got on that saw? Plastic? Metal? If plastic, you might try taking off the re-coil (starter) check and see if coil can be cleaned. It might be dirty, metal fan wheels used the crank trigger located under the top cover at rear. A small silver box you can usually see it after...

    100cc West Bend Powerhead

Bill, When I'm ready to sell it, I'll give you the first shot. I'm looking for a bar for it now, I might be getting one before long. I tried to make the Jonsey bar work, but it's to narrow at the rear and it's not getting oil to the bar right. The guy I talked to say's he might have one...

    Jonsered 111 Super Chainsaw

If that saw goes down and you need parts, let me know. I know where some parts are. And if you run over it and figure to junk it, by all means get ahold of me, I am scarfing as many 111, or 111S parts as possible. Alls you have to do is, just feed them good quality oil in your mix and keep them...

    Jonsered 111 Super Chainsaw

My father has been running his 2- 111S since new and they are still going like day one. He is 81 this year. He cuts some, but mostly stumps. He enjoys it, and makes a few bucks also. As you say parts are very rare unless you know where to search. But, were wondering: HOW LONG DOES A JONSEREDS...

    Got my 80 running

    28" or 30" Homelite/Jonsered Bar

04, Great saws! Video's with music too, COOL!!! Yes, I run the D024 bars, they are 58 gauge. I also use a couple of D196's also, they are 50 gauge. I'm not sure but the D009 might also work, but not possitive. Might have to do some filing. A 9.5mm will work with some filing, but they come...
