    idiot chainsaws

Idiot chainsaw = Pull-on 3416. Worst was ever built. They run and cut once maybe twice. Local Ace where I worked has atleast 30 in back that were returned. Oiler was designed by a 4 year old, carb works great unless you need it, tensioner is useless, the fylewheel and magneto like to form one...

    Solo 694/Dolmar 9010

Still up for grabs. Saw Troll, that is what the guy said. I should have mentioned his 660 is brand spanking new. He was upset that he just laid out $1200 for the 660 and didn't have the cash to buy the 694. Anyhow, 694 is still up for sale.

    opinion on buying new husqvarna

I think the 575 has real good bang for the buck when it comes to Huskys. Everyone that has one, that I know, loves the 575. Most say it's got more bottom end grunt than the 372.

    Solo 694/Dolmar 9010

For sale Solo 694. Same as Dolmar 9010. Comes with 28" 3/8" bar, one full comp chain 3 sprockets .404 7T, 3/8 8T, 3/8 7T. It runs great, very low hours around 30 I'd guess. Used it mostly to lower stumps prior to grinding. Muffler has been opened up some. Very powerful I've been running 28"...

I need a new climbing saw

I saw a little Echo top handle at Home Depot. I think it was a 330T. $250. It was a special order nobody picked up, $250 was the regular price. I'm gonna wait and see if they knock it down a little just to unload it. I'm sure it's no powerhouse but for that price it'd be great. I'd feel much...

    3120 vs. MS880

From what I have seen around here most tree companies end up kickin' themselves for buying saws that big. There isn't much you can do with a 90cc saw. The problem is that it takes way too long for those huge saws to pay for themselves. I know of one company that just bought a 880 and his...

    Newby Question

We really need more info to answer your question. Which saw are you have chain troubles with? Have you considered using rope or cable instead of chain? When cable gets dull just turn the saw upside down.

    I added a Dolmar 5100S.

So, how long 'till you open up the muffler?

    Gas-Oil mix for McCulloch

I was thinking my Timberbear was 32:1 and I ran that in the 610 I had too. That'd be 10-12 years ago. They both ran great.

Torn between the Swedes and the Japanese

Are you planning on doing you're own maintenance/repairs? If not, then you need to look at who has better dealer support in your area. Personally, I would look at a used larger saw like a 440, 575 or maybe a 7900 if you have a good dealer around. 3 cube saws work fine but I really like running...

    Stihl bought out by echo

So you'll be able to get Stihl parts a Home Depot then right? Odd, they aren't renting Stihls. :ices_rofl:

Whats the first NEW chainsaw you ever purchased?

My first new saw was a Mac 3214 about 12-13 years ago. Ended up with 3 or 4 of them. They were great "semi-disposable" saws. I wouldn't mind another if I hadn't gotten spoiled by "non-disposable" saws.

    385 or 660

If you have a dealer close you may want to check out a 694 Solo or Dolmar 9010. I have a 694 with a modded muffler that cuts like mad in anything. The only draw back is weight. I like the prices much better than Husky or Stihl and the saws are just as good in my opinion. I run a 28" bar with...
