    Stihl 045 no spark!

    So I am working on a 045 super with a sem. No spark i have it all apart. I figured that I would find bad insulation on the kill wire but no its good. I also have a bosch ele ignition that is also bad. What have you inventive types come up with to fix the very common electronic ignition failure...

    I don't know but that Mac might have an allergic reaction to that cream sickle part attached to it. :)

    I was told that it can also be used as a piston stop. In some models anyway? Never dared to try it tho. I prefer the rope trick.

    Ed You did such a great job with this thread my friend copied you. Well almost. There is no port work. Ran it for the first time today. The carb is a hdb from a 3400 poulan The choke works backward from the hda carb. Plus the choke arm has to be modified to fit. Flipped and shortened...

    This saw was a cantidate for playing with porting. It's not my saw and I didn't port it. Buddy of mine did. The exh port was widened not raised and the intake was just barely lowered and I mean just barely. It seems to run great however no chain to give it a test cut. It seems to be louder but...

    Any one play with the porting on mccinderblock? Going to open up the exhaust port to the shelf that is cast in. Any objections ?

    Finally got to run the super 250. I am pretty impressed the power is quite a bit more than the standard 250. Only thing left to do is re attach the label to af cover. Bill

    I am pretty sure there is a vent. It is a cotter pin thru a hole in the tank behind the pump housing. Here. I have never had the oil tank off mine so I have no clue as to the gasket issues. Bill
