Want to Buy McCulloch gear drive saws, bars, parts

I'm looking for say 32-42" hard nose bars to fit the old McCulloch 4-30, 73, 77 saws. Would like a fortified tip bar but I'll consider others. Longer bars I'll consider as well. Seized parts saws I could use especially a 73 or 77 those are what I tinker with , collect, rebuild and run the most...

    Bark peeling/shaved oddity

I have several trees in the front yard that have bark missing all the way up as far as I can see. Its odd like a razorblade has shaved it off and you can see small holes everywhere like a bug has bored a hole but you never see any bugs. Trees never have any leaves on them at all. I don't know...

    New Yellow Monster

Got this off ebay a week back or so cheap and not running. Thought it was a 740 but no auto oiler on the tank so not sure what the heck it is. Has 40 and 1240 on the base. I do know one thing it is a lot more powerful than my 250 saw. And LOUD as hell. I didn't consider the 200 and 250 saws loud...

    Another to feed the CAD

Man I haven't been here a few weeks and I'm already talking like you guys... The CAD is coming on strong I believe. I picked up a McCulloch 740 off ebay and it arrived today. Cleaned it up somewhat and I think I got a decent saw for the money. It seems every time I get my hands on a MAC they...

One more MAC 250 / Super 250 question

I know this has been discussed over and over again probably but I just would like to know.... Is there really that much of a difference over 7cc's??? I mean it isn't much not like going from 80 to 100 it's only 7cc. Why do folks say this is one of the best saws MAC put out? I just don't see how...

    It's a Hemi

Hey, I was doing some digging and found some original literature on the Homelite Super XL-925 and come to find out it has a Hemi Head on it. I never heard of a chainsaw with a hemispherical combustion chamber. No wonder it has the power it does. Anyone else heard of Hemi head chainsaws? This...

    McCulloch 250 versus Super 250

Hi folks, Does anyone know of the best way to tell a regular 250 from a Super 250? I think the Super 250 has a primer on it along with the kill switch on top of the fan cover instead of the side. They usually have a round muffler instead of the old square one if you wanna call that a muffler...

    Homelite SXL-925

Hi all, I just joined yesterday and am not sure of all the places yet or where people just **** chat but this looked like a good place. I just got ahold of a few saws for a steal from an older lady whose husband died. They used to have a tree business she said and this was his favorite saw. I...
