Debating a Chipper, woodmaxx 3 point?

Thanks for the feedback. I can definately structure my work around a few rental days, so that's a valid option.

    From Bowline to Daisy Chain?

I was wondering: Its a running knot, where can it go? I mean the worst that could happen is it jams or slips a little right? Start small and see? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk

Debating a Chipper, woodmaxx 3 point?

I've been debating a used chipper for a while for property maintenance. Not new because I can't spend $15K + on one. I'd like a hydraulic feed type for safety. It comes down to a tractor mount 3 point model or a self-powered model. The 3 point model seems to have several major...

    Dolmar ps-401 - loving it!

I've always liked different stuff than the mainstream. Nothing against Stihl or husky or any of the other great saws but Dolmars work great for me. PS-3410 TH PS-401 PS-5105 (not shown): with a muffler mod, 18" bar, .325 chain it cuts nice. Dolkita 8400 (Makita 6400 with 84CC big bore kit and...

    Dolmar ps-401 - loving it!

Man, I love this little saw. I've had it for a few years and haven't been nice to it, hardly used it. Due to circumstances I took it over to a friends house to fall / buck some smaller trees and was surprisingly very happy with it. Since that got me interested, I just finished a long...

    Top Handle Recommendation?

Seems to me it's really what characteristics you want. A slightly heavier but really powerful 35cc ish saw that rips through the wood, or a lighter but less powerful 25ish cc saw that will get it done in smaller wood (albiet slower). I don't think there's a universal right or wrong answer...

    From Bowline to Daisy Chain?

Sorry, this should be in the Arborist 101 forum, can someone move it?

    Top Handle Recommendation?

I have one, I did a muffler mod and swapped out the original 3/8 LP .050 bar and chain for a 3/8LP .043 narrow kerf bar and safety chain. It runs great, cuts smooth, and it doesn't kick back, I'm very impressed.

    From Bowline to Daisy Chain?

I was watching "Educated Climber's videos on youtube : He rigs using a daisy chain vs a bowline. I liked how he used it, I see several advantages to it over the bowline. Not as a total replacement, but it's a cool option. I'm not an arborist so I don't have a chance to do tree work...

Is a fall protection harness / chest harness a good idea with an old saddle?

I see some of the modern saddles have fall protection options with a top harness add-on. I always climb simple old school DdRT and just do easy straight-forward work. I use basic climbing gear that I picked up in a kit years ago, a Buckingham 1371 saddle. The old saddle I use has no...

    Echo CS2511T Carb Settings

I added an Oregon .043 bar and chain: Oregon 124MLEA041 .043" Gauge 3/8" Low Pro Pitch 12" Double Guard Bar Oregon 90PX045G Low Profile 3/8-Inch Pitch 0.043-Inch Gauge 45-Drive Link Saw Chain I really like how this cuts. I'm just a homeowner who does my own property maintenance and volunteer...

    Echo CS2511T Carb Settings

For the record, tried Ketchup's settings out and much improved over stock. Pulled much better in the wood and didn't die when I let off the throttle. I bumped the idle 1/8 turn up. 77 degree's, 700 feet ASL, completely stock saw with 1 tank through, 12" bar stock chain: 3-1/4" turns L, 2...

    Echo CS2511T Carb Settings

I always find the answers after asking the question... Here's what I found other places here: https://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/echo-top-saws.335554/ https://www.arboristsite.com/community/attachments/new-echo-na_carb-adj-man_071619-pdf.765367/ I extrapolated this from the...

    Echo CS2511T Carb Settings

I know this is an old thread, but I had the same question as the OP. I thought the low speed could be a little richer, the high speed seemed OK. I ran a tank through with the limiters both full rich. I was impressed with the power from the little saw but the acceleration bobbled off idle...

    Easy dolmar 5100/5105/510/460 muffler mod

reviving a long dead post: I did a muffler mod on my 5105 a few years back... removed the cat and made a bigger exhaust hole, removed the screen (most Screens can be very restrictive, they block area and cause turbulence). Long story short, it was louder and made some more power. I got...

    jaxson and mitsubishi brush cutters?

The engine and mechanical parts like the shaft seem built well. They cheaped out on some details like the handles, on off switch, and harness.... but hey, it is what it is, keep the blade sharp and it will cut

    jaxson and mitsubishi brush cutters?

Ive used it for about 16 hours total only cutting heavy brush and locust trees. After sitting all winter I used it 2 hours this spring and all went well. The unit itself has started and run flawlessly. The carry strap broke, the string attachment I got with it fell apart. Its not a super...
