Another "Is this a good deal?" thread

How so? I've never owned a Dolmar but was always led to believe that they are a pro grade saw? Hard to find parts?

Another "Is this a good deal?" thread

Hi folks, So I was casually surfing Craigslist last night looking for a bookcase for the living room and an ad that I was looking at said, at the bottom of the listing, "also a couple old non running chainsaws". Of course I saw this as divine intervention telling me to spend money on chainsaws...

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

Just had to comment.... The store only has the display model 2255 left. I had to ask, they said 10% off which makes it only $225. If I can get them down to 20% off I won't be able to say no :rare2:

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

Not that this is an interesting thread but, picked up a 2255 for $250 today. Brand new in box. Fired right up and ran really good after a tune. Should be a good saw at a great price

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

To answer your first question, no I didn't tickle the homie. I was pretty put off by the fact that it was advertised as a good runner, only to find neither I nor the owner could get it running using solid starting techniques. And as for the 2255, it's at a local Bi-Mart. They don't service but...

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

Well folks, I drove almost 75 miles to pick up the saw (I honestly didnt mind the drive). I had asked that they not "pre-start" the saw so I could see how she fires when cold. After doing the standard starting routine and yanking on that SOB for about 10 straight minutes I left without a saw...

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

I talked her down to 75, I'm comfortable with the price as long as it's a good runner.

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

What size bar would y'all recommend? I was thinking of a 16". And just for fun, what's the biggest bar you have ran that still cut decent? I'm getting pretty stoked about picking it up tomorrow....

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I really appreciate it and am looking forward to picking up the saw this weekend. My thoughts are to put a 16" bar on it and have one mean camping saw. I will give my first impressions of the saw shortly.

    Homelite Super XL. Worth it?

Sold my husky 365 last fall because I don't need a saw that big. Bad choice. I only need something for camping, occasional firewood cutting. But I don't like junk and can't afford anything new or even close to New. I was looking at a homelite super 2 and homelite 150 but upon further review I...
