    ?'s for backpack blower owners

I just bought a Stihl 600 backpack blower, this thing is a beast compared to my handhelds! It's going to cut a bunch of time off getting leaves and debris out of the landscaping and other areas you can't pull the sweeper into. Should have bought one of these years ago.

    ?'s for backpack blower owners

I think it will work fine for light snow so long as it's not the wet heavy stuff, great way to clear snow off trailers etc. and the wood pile. I got an email from Stihl few weeks back promoting the 800 blower so it shouldn't be to long a wait.

    ?'s for backpack blower owners

I got through this fall without buying one, mainly because none of my local dealers had the 800 in stock yet or they were hiding them in back and playing dumb to sell off their stock of 600/700's in inventory. I'll grab one when they hit the floor, leaf clean up this year was a good reminder...

    Chimney Liner questions....

You'll never pass inspection for homeowners insurance without lining it, and any modern insert won't run correctly with an oversized non insulated chimney. That being said, those old Squire smoke dragons may lack required certifications your homeowners insurance company is going to stand fast...

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

Had this 211 in the wood a few times now with the 16" B&C and Picco chain, it runs nicely far more capable saw than I was expecting and starts easy hot or cold really pleased with it so far.

The return of Shelby the swamp man???

Seriously? Man I love his antics, but that aside some of the swamp logging he does is just neat as heck to watch.

    ?'s for backpack blower owners

I can assure you the tractor and pull behind sweeper and catcher are far faster than any rake lol. Thing is you still have to use at least a handheld blower to get them away from the chain link fence, around the house and tress etc out into a traffic area to drive over them. We used to do the...

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

Got the new 16" B&C installed today, many thanks to formersawrep for trading! Pretty sure this bar uses Oregon 91VXL055G 3/8" Low Profile Semi-Chisel 55 Drive Link?

    ?'s for backpack blower owners

Lot's of leaves, oaks and cherry trees on and all the way around the property. So yea, based on your experience I'm in similar conditions and not wanting an all day ordeal at all the pull behind sweeper knocks it out pretty fast it's just that a pass or three in the heavy areas and it's full...

    ?'s for backpack blower owners

So the county finally got their act together and is doing roadside leaf pick up this year, I was using a pull behind sweeper with a dump catcher behind the tractor and it works great to get them all in one place to burn but I'm wondering if I can replace that with a back pack blower and get them...

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

And Oregon doesn't even show an 18" bar or chain in their selection menu, which is why I questioned running it in the first place. All is well, formersawrep needs an 18" and had a new 16" so were swapping them win/win for both of us. Now I'll need to figure out what to buy for a 16"...

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

Every dealer I checked with it only offered it with the 18" bar. Guess it's got more grunt than what I was expecting if they are setting them up that way.

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

I'm hoping so, one thing I like about it that little saw dumps oil out of the bar port like the Exxon Valdez making the history books it really moves it out of the hole I pulled the bar and started it earlier even at idle there's a nice steady flow so it should lube the bar just fine.

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

I haven't tried it yet, guess I'll put it in some wood this weekend and see how it does with the 18 that's on it.

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

Wouldn't that be going in the wrong direction with the 18" bar that's on it now changing a 6 to a 7 tooth sprocket?

I just pulled the cover to have a look it's a 6 tooth drive sprocket.

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

Yea was kinda my thoughts on the 18" bar and chair, seems like way to much for that saw and even a 16" could really slow it down. All the dealers around here have them set up that way though with 18's, I guess they try to cover all the bases for one saw owners with that long a bar.

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

Thanks Gary! That's really what I needed to know for sourcing new chain. These all sharpen with any 5/32" file? Any opinions on this being to much bar for the power head? Seems like a lot of bite for 35cc's.

Stihl MS 211 bar and chain ?'s for replacements

So I got my hands on a new never in the wood MS 211 from my dealer that someone had brought back for whatever reason and he made me a great deal on it, just wanted a small lighter back up saw to keep in the truck and the price was really right. I've always cut everything with a 60cc saw and...
