No oiler adjustment on my 2017 Husqvarna 450 -20" ???

I had a 450 and a 455. Both had 18” bars. Bars did seem to get hot. My friend loved my 450 so he got one too. Was always complaining how hot the bar got. Definitely can’t keep the chain too tight.

    Splitting/Chopping Tool Review Thread

I sold my house in Maine one year ago. Sold my seven chain saws as well as my Fiskars x27 and Fiskars Maul. Before I sold them I had the chance to compare them on splitting. I felt the X27 actually split wood easier than the maul. Anyway. I now find myself in need of an X27 and was surprised...

    Husqvarna 450 bar oil leak

I had a 450 and a 445. I was told there was no adjustment to the Oiler. Both leaked when sitting. One thing I was told here was that when you are done for the day, unscrew the oil fill cap and remove the pressure from the tank. Like “burping a baby”. That will stop the leak. I got many years...

    Stihl 170 deal?

Mine came with a 16” and the 3/8 picco. Always starts. Never an issue. Much easier on the body when I’m limbing. I’m not really cutting anything gigantic these days on my lot. If I need something bigger, I bring out the 372 with the 24” bar.

    Stihl 170 deal?

Saw that advertised at an Ace Hardware In Windham Maine this past Sunday. If I did not have one already I would grab one. Great little saw.

    School me on stihl trimmers

After I dumped a bunch of trees on my property, the little oak's started growing like crazy, and many of the stumps sprouted 10-20 sprouts in no time. I searched for a brush cutter and ended up with the Stihl FS130 with the round loop handle. I keep the circular saw blade on it at all times...

Seeing your work here, and a few other sites inspired me to smoke a pork butt and a jimmy dean fattie. Tasty!

    Fiskars X27 review

A coworker has the Gerber version. Seemed almost identical when I looked at it. I did not swing it though.

    Fiskars X27 review

Saw a serious low price of $38 on the internet so I ordered a backup. I also ordered the Fiskars isocore maul just to try it alongside the x27. I think the x27 split better than the maul.

    Reconditioned Chainsaws? What's The Deal?

The 450 was my first new saw. Prior to that was a used 011. Baileys had a special. Came with a box and a t shirt was pretty cheap at the time. The narrow kerf chain really ripped. Friend of mine loved it so much he asked me to order one for him and he cuts about 10 chord per year for heating...

    Educate me on pole saws!

Would you consider an electric? I just got the Oregon version. Cuts everything I need. Any tree I didn’t drop I want to cut the limbs off as high as I can reach. It’s doing a fine job. The battery life on the model I got is about a half hour, but by then my shoulders are shot and need a break...

    Stihl 011 AV

First chainsaw I ever owned. Given to me for next to nothing by an old friend/co worker who is now deceased. Great little saw. Never gave me any issues. I think about him every time I break it out.

    cordless pole pruner?

I just bought the Oregon 40v electric pole pruner. Pretty powerful. Long reach. Still getting used to it. I think there are a few different battery ah choices. I’m not real jazzed about the length of time between charges on the one I got, and I have managed to spin the chain a few times...

    BEST WOOD CHIPPER TO BUY?

No tractor, so the 3 pt hitch attachment not an option. I don’t think anything in the pile is over 2” thick. Mostly oak, beech and pine. Plenty long though and smaller branches shooting off. I’ve piled them in the woods in a bit of a gully as I’ve cut over the years. But as I clear more, the...

Curious what you ended up buying? I have a similar situation in Maine and my slash pile just keeps on growing.
