    M6 Turbosawmill & Tree ID

Not sure about the variety of wood. The dark lines are unusual.

    ? About chaps

Depends on what your doing with them. If your climbing up a tree in very cold weather then the largest coverage would probably be best. If you stay on the ground in tropical areas then less coverage would be better. Just make sure that what you get you'll use and understand that they're for...

Whats your thoughts on these little buggers?

Man, if I'd known they cut like that, I wouldn't have got the 362.

Whats your thoughts on these little buggers?

Those are some nice bows. Do you have a corner on the market or what? Do you use them for cutting wood on the ground or do you use them other ways as well?

Buy a FS130 or wait for an older FS200/250 to appear?

It sounds like the fs130 would be too much for your property. A km56 is a perfect small property machine and can always be upgraded with a larger engine later.

Good enough for small to medium property.

    I really like my MS362.

    Chainsaw milling dense tropical woods

Now I'm really confused. It shows 90º as the angle for most of the chains. So it should be 0º for most of the chains and -10º (negative ten degrees) for the K1L?

    Chainsaw milling dense tropical woods

On page ten it shows to sharpen some chain, like K1L, at a 10° angle instead of a 90° angle perpendicular to the bar. Sharpening at a 10° angle would almost be straight up and down, parallel to the bar. Shouldn't it be an 80° angle?

Electric chain saw with 20"+ bar?

The problem is b&c options on electric or cordless saws. The sprocket is not always the same. If you're running a 0.043" gauge 3/8P chain then you can use any 0.050" or 0.063" gauge 3/8 b&c with that sprocket. I've never found any bars over 16" in 0.043" gauge for Stihl. If you move up to a 20"...

    Bar / chain oil

I have used that Rural King oil and it is a little stiff for cold weather. Can you thin it out with veggie oil?

    Echo CS280T or Stihl MS193T

Check Echo for handle repairs and cracks, they have issues.

    Swapping chain size.

Try another Stihl dealer, that one doesn't want your business.

Cutting off tree root near trunk (under sidewalk)

Usually that section of the property between the street and the sidewalk belongs to the city. Sounds like if the city wants it fixed their going to have to do it.

Cutting off tree root near trunk (under sidewalk)

1' and 1" look like the same thing to me too. Foot and inch are much easier to distinguish.

    Carbide Chains and Advice

I usually get more than ten times the life out of carbide chain over steel chain. I'm dealing more with sugar sand and high silica in the wood than dirt and clay on the wood. Not sure if this makes a difference. Don't forget the raker angle decreases as the cutter is sharpened. This will...

    Chainsaw milling dense tropical woods

I understand everything in the above diagram except the difference between the "Top Plate Cutting Angle" (TPCA) and the "Side Plate Angle" (SPA). Isn't the TPCA and SPA the same thing? How would they differ. I'm doing more research.
