    Hyd log lift cylinder size?

Don't I know it too! I've had the opportunity to work with them on numerous occasions and even have a few in the family! Once at my summer job the engineers devised this "perfect" part that combined several smaller assemblies into one more streamlined, more efficient package. Awesome dream come...

    Hyd log lift cylinder size?

Essentially what i'm going for is something pretty close to the built-rite and timberwolf tw5/6. I plan to have a prince auto cycle with power beyond port and then two spool valve running a log lift and adjustable wedge. I would for sure want to go with 3k for the main and i guess the other two...

    Hyd log lift cylinder size?

Hmmm... Does it have to be rated for the same psi as my main splitting cylinder? Eg. If i have a 3000 psi main cylinder will i need to find ones that are rated for the same psi? Once you hit the 3K mark for psi the price seems to go up up up.

    Hyd log lift cylinder size?

I'm in the process of getting all my parts lined out for my splitter build and ran into a question... I want to have a hydraulic log lift but I have no idea the size and specifically the stroke that I need for the cylinder. What can I use without breaking the bank? Thanks, Hellbent

    Got me an 85cc saw

Congrats Husky Dan! (see how I used that so now it's "official" since more than one person in town knows you by that) I know exactly how you feel when you step up into a saw that size from what you've been used running. Suddenly trees just seem to fall over into rounds. Funny how that happens!

Can I build a splitter out of golf course mower?

I did find out that the engine runs but smokes... Everything else is supposed to work. He wasn't sure GPM on the pump but I'm sure it has to be above the 16gpm range and so the briggs will probably struggle. Man, Where do I go from here? I'm guessing shy of "log splitter" specific hydraulic...

Can I build a splitter out of golf course mower?

Bad news, he cut off the reels but kept the motors for them so no go on the mower fix up. I planned to use the 13 hp briggs to run it and had thought of the diesel for something else like an ecomod. Great minds think alike!

    fire starters

Ditto! they sure do work great. I like the idea of noodling the pine though, maybe I'll try doing that with cedar and selling them as aromatherapy firestarters... HMM, a plan is forming

Can I build a splitter out of golf course mower?

Splitter Guru's, ASSEMBLE!!! For a low budget (read no budget) splitter build I came across a Jacobson HF 5 VW diesel powered reel mower that is used to cut golf courses. I can't find much in the way of background info other than the engine is a 33hp liquid cooled Volkswagon and that all the...

    Splitter build questions- hydraulics

Jakers and nathon, great idea on the single spool with the double for the lift and wedge... Far easier to find! What would be the difference on the cycle time between the 16 and the 22? Which would be best for if the old cylinder dies and I put a new one on? Maybe a better way to say that...

Help make a fixed angle crane

What size is that channel? Is it actually structural channel with the radius in the corners to the web or some type of formed product? The reason i bring that up is structural channel in 5" usually comes in 9 and 6.7 ( 5 being inches tall and 9 being weight in pounds per foot ) with the web...

    Splitter build questions- hydraulics

Both excellent points that I really hadn't thought of! I have a 4" bore 2" rod 36" stroke cylinder that came off of a loader for a tractor that i plan on using just because it is what i already have. So for sure i should be looking at a 22gpm pump and that would handle everything i'm looking...

    Wood ID...Locust, Ash or Trash?

Yeah you ain't kidding! I have probably 20 acres of my place INFESTED with those God forsaken weeds! So thick you can hardley walk in there. Super wet stuff - remind me of those jungle vines you can cut and drink water from. I could almost fill a glass with what runs off the stumps. The boss...
