Cool. Will do! Just wondering what you might be getting for 24" wide by 1.5" to 3" slabs at 10' length?

I just blocked it up with a round so it would be stable when I cut it. It was on the rootball.

It's a white oak. I also have some 24" section from the oak that was next to it.

This is the tree I want to mill. I think I cut it into 10+ foot sections. Do you guys think slabs could bring good money from a tree like this?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these. Currently have a 661 that I was going to use for milling, but stumbled across these bad boys. Anyone have some good videos of milling with one of these in 36"+ oak?

2014 Halifax County Antique Machinery and Heritage Festival

Sorry I am so late posting these but I lost my hard drive not too long after this and was just recently able to recover all of the data. Better late then never :) Also, sorry about some of the redundant photos. Will clean the album up and add a few more in the next day or two. <iframe...

    2 saw plan

My 036 is a hell of a good saw. It is every bit as strong as my MM'd 039 but lighter and slimmer. Plus, it is built like a tank. Once the 6421 is convert to a 79cc saw then I think I will have a good two saw plan. Justin

    Dolmar 7910

Stock 6400 comparo Mastermind, In know that this is not a 7900 but I think it would be interesting if you posted a video of a stock 6400 in the same wood and with the same or equivalent B/C that you used in the ported 7910 video. I feel this would be a great comparison. I think that Jon said...

how do you hold your cylinder in the lathe

PE? This stuff is pretty tough and ridged even up past it crystallinity point. It doesn't melt due to the MW being so high. Macmaster-Carr has a great plastics selection guide on their site if you are looking for an appropriate polymer for a mandrel.

    Plastic welding

I think he is using the torch to heat the butter knife then melting/shaping plastic with that. Plastic is usually non conductive so a tig torch would not work. I have done a lot of plastic welding and it takes a bit of practice to get it right sometimes. It can be tough to get fussion all the...

    dolmar 6400 or Husqvarna 555?

I kind of feel the same way. After removing the cat on my 6421 I think I may just leave it stock and pick up another one from HD to do the swap. That way I can do a side by side comparison of the two saws at the same time. :)

    dolmar 6400 or Husqvarna 555?

I have the 6421 and will be doing the conversion once I have enough money. This saw I ran on Saturday was very slightly ported according to the owner. A stock one shouldn't be far off. I think it is wearing a 28" full comp in oak. The saw is also super smooth too. Justin Justins Ported...
