50-60cc Saws With Heated Handles and Electric Carb

Thanks for the replies. I called my local Stihl dealers today. One had no clue, the other was going to look into it and the last was closed. I'll be in touch with @GCJenks204 if I decide to go with the Stihl.

50-60cc Saws With Heated Handles and Electric Carb

I'm looking for a 50-60cc saw with heated handles and electric controlled carb that is available in the USA. Are the only options Husqvarna 550xpg and 562xpg? I see that Stihl has the Arctic 261 and 362 on Canada's website, but not USA. Would a Stihl dealer be able to get me one here...

    My New to me 346xp

Well, I grabbed an OEM piston from my dealer, great guys. He even threw in a chain catch and oil cap from his bone yard! So now I have $300 into one of my dream saws. I think I'll name her Ugly Betty. I removed base gasket, squish is .018". I read over a bunch of porting threads, and...

    Wood id

Interesting, I've only been around birch, spruce and cottonwood. This exotic wood is new to me.

In the first picture why is the end of the round so dark?

    My New to me 346xp

Before I order parts, is there anything that is prone to wear on these I should be checking? The av mounts all seemed intact, fuel lines looked ok, carb boot looked ok. This is my list so far: piston, chain catch, rim sprocket.

    My New to me 346xp

I think I see what you mean on the smooth piston. On the sides I have some horizontal lines. Did those lines used to be all around the piston?

    My New to me 346xp

I think I'm catching the saw bug... I bought this saw yesterday. It has been used and abused, but it's all there and runs great! Came with a like new 18" bar and chain. Plastics are pretty rough, but that's ok work me. Limiter caps are still on the carb. Compression is 120 psi. Has the blue...

365 Flywheel Contacting Meteor 372 Cylinder

Just an update: I've ran 2 tanks through the saw, I really like it, much more power than before. Still needs some fine tuning, I kept it a little fat. Compression now measures 175 psi cold. Next project is to try it out on my Lewis winch, should pull better than the Super XL. Thanks for...

365 Flywheel Contacting Meteor 372 Cylinder

I'm not worried. We've used it on snowmobile and outboard cases without any failures. A cylinder base shouldn't see anymore pressure than a case half.

365 Flywheel Contacting Meteor 372 Cylinder

I read posts where multiple other people have used it in the same application with no issues. This is from the manufacturer: Automobile Suggested Applications: For use on machined aluminum metal components; transmission pans, transmission case covers, transaxle casings, transfer cases, split...

365 Flywheel Contacting Meteor 372 Cylinder

Well, I popped the flywheel off and ground away the trouble spot. I ended up grinding away quite a bit more than the photo shows. I had already sealed the cylinder, that's why I didn't want to pull it. I know I shouldn't have done things in that order. Squish measured .031". Compression...

365 Flywheel Contacting Meteor 372 Cylinder

So I bought this 365 SP 9 years ago and used it on my mill a bit. Saw was feeling pretty weak, so I decided to buy a 372 top end to put on it. 3 years later I'm finally installing it. I bolted the cylinder down, and tried turning over the engine to measure squish, (base gasket delete) and...

No problems, haven't used it much though. Just want more power.

    Husqvarna Saw ID

Well I'm looking for a larger power head for my Lewis winch, or for my Alaska mill. Outboard clutch is a deal breaker for the winch. I have a super xl on the winch now. I'm putting a 372 top end on my 365, I could swap that between the winch and mill. He's asking $325 for the mystery saw.

    Husqvarna Saw ID

I Couldn't find any pictures of a 272 that liked like it. Sorry for the poor image quality, that's all I have.

    Husqvarna Saw ID

Seller says it's 72cc and a model 72. Is this a 272? Do these have internal clutch? What's it worth? Has a new looking 24" husqvarna bar. Thanks

    Husqvarna 365 Chain Catcher

I bought the saw to use on my Alaska mill. Decided to try it out with some bucking and felling when I noticed the missing parts. She's getting a little tired, I think milling is hard on it. Compression is a little low, so I've got a 372 top end on order.
