Look at the new Redmax on ebay ..... $299 + $20 shipping Redmax G5000 .. These are under rated, 50cc saws that are very good runners .... modded they will run right with a 346XP ... very reliable saws ... Best priced saw at 50cc's ...

A builder in Penn. ported a 5000 & his boy won a few 50cc class times ... It was still 4stroking at 17000+ .... It beat some 346's .... 5000's are good saws ....

I own both ... and have run both a good bit .... the 5100 is ok & you would probably be happy with it ... Just don't pick up & use a 346 .... The 346 will always put a smile on your mug !! ... Mine is a w.ported OE 45cc ....

After the obvious 346 .... consider a Redmax 5000 ... much less money & I would bet it out runs a Didmar 5100s, both being stock ... if the 5000 is ported it's a real screamer, like ability to run 17,000rpm ... 13,000 in the cut ... The Redmax is also a rather durable saw ...

GOOD LOOKING DOGS ..... What about a chain catch between the lower points .... Bolted to the inside ... pin into the bar cover ... just a thought

Them broke fins ... did not get by these here inspectors before shippen ...

You will be happy with a 5100 .... just don't ever p/up and run a 346 ... 346 is just hard to beat ... I have a ported 346oe and my 5100s muffler mod only... The 346 will out cut 5100s at 3/4 throttle .... If you are ever going to port ... the 346 is the one ...

Ethanol DOES NOT blend with 2cyl mix ... It is a solvent to oil mixes ... Ethanol does mix with straight gas ...

If the BB were 90-95 cc's it would be worth it ... Go with the oem. and run it hard !!!

Wait till 10 tanks or so are run thru it ......... BIG DIFFERENCE .......

Not a good idea to us a ball hone.... use 320 by hand with wd40 or lite oil .. as said, just break the glaze, with lite hash marks .... A ball hone reaches into the ports and can cause rounding (timing change) or rare,flaking of the cyl. coating .... A Stihl dealer said most manufactures...

Husky NE346 ... modded (lots of gain modded) or stock .... Redmax 5000 ... modds very well or stock (good rpms) 17,000(modded) Dolmar 5100s ... modds ok not great, good stock ... My 2pennies ...
