Learned hand sharpening recently, thanks Covid19

Well with all this extra time on my hands I decide to give hand sharpening a shot and started perfecting my method. You guys that say it is the best way to sharpen are right on point, I am very impressed with the results! I now have an electric grinder for sale.

    Jonsered 2255 no compression

Found out they used a string to lock the piston up, not a rope a string...

    Jonsered 2255 no compression

What’s the best source for a new ring, or piston and jug if needed?

    Jonsered 2255 no compression

I am working on a Jonsered 2255 I used to own, I sold it to a friend, a couple years later he replaced the Oiler and now it has no compression. Piston looks good thru the exhaust port. Time to take the top end off? Is it worth it?

Buddies Husky 372X - no thanks

Was cutting some fire wood with some friends last weekend, we had a few different saws with us. Most were nothing to write home about, but we had a Husky 372X show up, that one I have wanted to try for a while but could not get my hands on one out in the woods to try out. Well, can't say I'm...

    Brand new MS362!

I guess I'm not sure about the strato design. It's an Mtronic I know. I know on this site there is a love hate thing about Mtronic. My MS441C is Mtronic and I have had little if any trouble with it. I bought the 441 used and did the factory reset procedure once and it cleared up an idle...

    Brand new MS362!

Just purchased a brand new MS362C, and I am quite happy with it. Put 4 tanks of fuel thru it today and I was very impressed. Can't wait to pull the trigger on it again tomorrow!

Opinions on old Craftsman 3.7 saws

Must be a Roper, doesn't look like that.

Opinions on old Craftsman 3.7 saws

I'm not sure, the picture I saw doesn't look like a Poulan. Probably a Roper, how would I know for sure? Anything thing to look for?

Opinions on old Craftsman 3.7 saws

I am going to look at a old red Craftsman 3.7 chainsaw. It needs work I am told, but I just might buy it for a project saw. I have heard good things about these saws, not sure who made it as Craftsman don't make anything. If my calculations are correct 3.7ci is about 60cc, and that's not a...

    290 question

Me too!!! As long as they are giving it to me!

    290 question

I sold my MS290 for $275.00 last spring, I listed it on craigslist and had all kind of hits on it. I had a almost new Jonserd 2255 and could hardly give it away, I did finally get my price for it. I wouldn't give $100.00 for those Husky boat anchors per Full Chisel. (just a little dig back at ya)

The first one/ cause of addiction

My first saw was my father's old top handle Poulan 1800. I put a new bar and chain on it, replaced the fuel line (that was a trick I'll tell ya, that fuel line thru the handle trick, gesh!) and cleaned the carb up. It's a good running saw, it is loud as heck, the muffler is about gone. I used...

    Stihl MS250 for $299.00 ?

Thanks for the input guys. I really don't like the local Echo dealer and Home Depot is an hour away. No Dolmar dealer anywhere close by. Husky and jshred, I've had them and they are ok for over priced Poulans. My local Stihl guy is great and I can trust him, any thing you buy from him is...

    Stihl MS250 for $299.00 ?

I think you are thinking of the MS260 for a professional model. I believe the MS250 is a farm/ranch saw and I am fine with that for my need. I have a bigger pro model for the big wood. And no I don't use a ladder like the poor saps on funniest videos and youtube. I do my own service and...

    Stihl MS250 for $299.00 ?

It comes back to a brand spanking new MS250 for $299. It will probably outlast me the way I take care of them and it will only see the smaller stuff as I love to cut with my MS441! The MS441 gets a little heavy cutting higher up small branches. Also I do like cutting with the MS180, but...

    Stihl MS250 for $299.00 ?

Dolmar 421 is more than $299 and I don't have a dealer closer than a couple of hours away.

    Stihl MS250 for $299.00 ?

I was at the local Stihl dealer and saw the MS250 w/18" on sale for $299. I am thinking real hard why I shouldn't pick one up. I know it's a HO saw, but I would mostly use it to clean up smaller limbs. Probably would replace my MS180 (which has given me zero problems). What would a 2 year...
