    The ultimate stupidity

It never ceases to amaze me how some of these people will record themselves on video. If you're not sure of what you're doing, then you sure as hell better not post this up on youtube! It's like they're begging to be made fun of or something!

Would you loan your woodsplitter to your neighbor?

That's 100% true, it does. My buddy (not really a neighbor as he's not next door) down the road will loan me out his Ariens splitter, no questions asked, for weeks if I need it. But when I do return it to him it's always cleaner than when I got it, plus the gas I ran through it will have some...

Still too warm to cut, but...

Your little guy is still on that tiny Chinese quad?? I thought for sure you would've had him on a big 'ol Yamaha or Honda by now. I'm impressed it can pull both him and the splitter still.

Some People Really Shouldn't Own Saws!

I hope she didn't get any chips in those brand new UGG's of hers.

    New revenue stream?

You're too late. I already saw that video posted up in the firewood section earlier this week. Gotta luuuuvvvv that ginger rubbed split he was marketing! I can't believe he threw a $1,200 price tag on that one...

    A man of his word...

I had a red maple dropped off in my driveway a couple months back that the guy didn't want to go through the hassle of going to the dump with. It was a big 'ol knotty gnarly tree. Very little could be split with my ax just because the friggin grain rotated like 180* degrees all the way up. I...

MS 361 & MS 390 to buy or not?

 Reg, I can see love is in the air:heart:

    Old dog, learning new tricks

That's cool. I'm surprised though that the owner of that tree company was okay with you being in the bucket and cutting and all, what with the whole liability issue coming into play if something went wrong. Nice photos still though!

    Superstitions??

No red Maple leaves here on the ground by me yet, but my black gum is already pushing little blueberry-like seeds out on its' branches when it normally starts mid to late September, so we'll see. Got plenty of oak and maple seasoning so I should be good. It's been said these more brutal cold...

Stihl MS 271 or Echo CS 590

I've never pulled the trigger on a 271, so I can't comment on that. But I do own a 590 for firewood cutting and like it a lot. Not as strong as my buddies ms362, but then I wouldn't expect it to be since there's a couple hundred dollar difference between the two. When I bought my 590, I bought...

Hey dad, can you look at my friends saw? It's not cutting very well...

I don't see what the problem is here......

    Cop at my door

Wasn't there a big stink raised about this in the chainsaw forum years back where someone asked him to go into detail about his ultra top-secret clandestine missions and he said he wasn't able to discuss it for X amount of years because it was so top secret and ultra-classified the world...

Is anybody else having a problem with Gypsy Moths this year?

When I'm crossing over into NJ on my commute I can see large chunks of state land that look exactly like that.

Is anybody else having a problem with Gypsy Moths this year?

Wow, Highland Lakes. Yeah, you're way up there near the NY State border. We got guys at FedEx that deliver out your way and they say that area is a hike from our station. Most of our caterpillars are cocooning now and either hatched as moths, or getting ready to hatch.

Is anybody else having a problem with Gypsy Moths this year?

I see clusters of oaks on my way into work that look like pure standing dead....

Is anybody else having a problem with Gypsy Moths this year?

My area seems to have a really bad population outbreak. Most of the caterpillars look like they're attacking trees in the white oak family. My red's seem to be escaping mostly unharmed. I travel about 7 or 8 miles on the backroads and see almost everyone else has been affected too in some way...

    Makita 6401

Do you have an ethanol tester? Just to make sure you don't get a higher mix than the 10%?
  18. pennsywoodburnr

    Makita 6401

Chris, I found a Gulf gas station near me that sells non ethanol gas. Plus I use StarTron. Those two things helped immensely. Before that I had to fart around with my saws to coax them back to life after letting them sit for a couple minutes. Man, that got old fast.

    Texas Fireplace grate

We have a few fireplace buffs on here, so I'm surprised no one responded yet. I've seen these on the internet before, but never owned one, so I can't comment on the durability of it. The concept is pretty neat though. Basically taking two layers of splits and stacking one on a lower level and...
