    A few new vids

A couple of new videos from Norway; I'll put them all in the same post. Enjoy in HD :-) Fail compilation. More fun and embarrassing than serious damage. Slam dunk. Trying to put a big pine into a container. Rotten.com. About time to end this tree's life. Windy. Had to abort this job due...

    Free falling birch

Had to climb this medium birch to avoid powerlines and a small hedge. Simple job, simple entertainment. Guest star: Postman Pat :)

    Spider leg / speedline

Used spider leg rigging and speedline on this medum pine last autumn. The homeowner worked on the ground clearing some branches when I sent the first down the speedline. Even though I asked "Ready?" and thumbs up, there was some kind of misunderstanding. Fortunately, he was not injured! Good...

    Felling 90ft pine using speedline

Yes, he was my groundsman on the job seen at 0:06, 0:16, 0:54 and 1:57 :)

    Section felling mashup

Yes, I love it and wouldn't climb without it :numberone: It's reliable, silent (could be a drawback for the groundsman, though), almost no maintenance, and it always start by the push of one button. Most customers also appreciate the eco-friendly part. Originally it is equipped with a 12" bar...

    Section felling mashup

I live in the southern part of Norway (~60 miles south of Oslo) and I only do this part time. But yes, I would say there is plenty of work for climbers in the high season, march-november. If you go a little further up north, you'll find mountains and lots of snow in the winter. Trees and...

Section felling a birch at full speed

Thanks! The neighbor wanted more evening sun, that's why... (The pine near the driveway also went down the same day.) I have 3 batteries, but I only bring a spare up in the tree when working alone on big trees. Normally one battery is enough for a medium tree. In the video above, there was ~50%...

Thanks! There has been a few trees the 15 years or so I have been doing it, yes. Climbing only the last 3, though.

    Ash removal

I was taught to do the diagonal cut first, and have always done it that way. I can understand though, that it is more accurate to do the flat cut first, as it's easier to alter your aim. That said, I guess it's easier to match up the two cuts when making the diagonal first as you can look down...
