390xp

Well I went and done it! I bit the bullet a bought a 390xp with a full wrap handle!! Should be here next week!! Can anyone tell me the history of these saws? I have heard they are like an updated 288xp which I love. Anything I need to know about them?? thanks.

I visited my stihl/husqvarna dealer today looking to purchase my first big saw. He had one of last year's 390XPs on sale for 900, 24" bar, it felt pretty nice in my hands. Quality saw? Is this a good deal, or should I try to find something used? Thanks!

Wanting to mill with 42" bar on 390xp with muffler mod. I understand the oiler would be at it's Max on 36". If I used an aux oiler would it help..is the 390 underpowered for 42"? I was going to run either Grandberg or full skip chain and it will only be an occasional use
