Clutch will not come loose to replace clutch drum echo cs400

Hello, The clutch will not come loose so I can remove and replace the DRUM and now cracked clutch. I used a rope to stop the piston, turned it right to loosen. Its so seized I’m afraid any more pressure will cause too much stress on the internals. any suggestions welcome

    Echo cs-590 clutch lock up

After 2 years of light use I'm getting smoke and a very hot engine when I engage the chain. Obviously that's not sustainable so I'm looking to see if it can be serviced by an old car mechanic (me) or really hard and should be done by a shop? Someone else have been running it for the last little...

    Stihl MS251 clutch drum stuck

Hi! My Stihl MS251 won't pump chain oil anymore. I started to take the saw apart to check the oil pump, however, I don't manage to get the clutch drum off. I can lift it about 5 mm, but then it stops. I can turn the needle bearing with a thin screwdriver, and the drum spins freely when the...

    Bandit 12XPC clutch

I recently bought a 2018 Bandit 12XP, 100+ hours on it. Two days later upon shutting down it started to squeal. It sounded like the belt slipping. Long story short the chipper drum isn't free spinning, engine pulley won't spin freely even with clutch disengaged. The clutch was never adjusted...

2 shoe clutch to 3 shoe clutch conversion.

I've searched and searched and haven't found an answer. I'm sure it's an obvious one but I want to be sure before ordering. I have a 55 rancher I'm fixing for my brother and the clutch is very rusty, I was assuming a new clutch would be good if they are cheap. The one that I found right of the...

Hi guys, I recently bought a Timber pro 62 cc saw pro series. Bought it as an affordable saw to work with until I can get a hold of a nice husky... It was running spot on, nice bit of power and cutting well.. until this evening, there was a sound of metal grinding and saw stopped. Tried to...

MS 660 Chain Running at Idle

My 660 chain is running at idle when it will run. I've gotten new clutch springs and checked the clutch to make sure everything is working as it should. It is cleab and nothing is worn. The chain moves at normal idle speeds. I've adjusted the carb and it still won't run. When I start it the...

Hello, The clutch arm bearing on my BC1000XL (2007, 2100 hours) has gone out. This is the second time I have had to replace the clutch arm in 250 hours of run time. The last time it sheared off at the pivot point from metal fatigue. The conversion kit features two bearings instead of one and...

    Chainsaw Clutch & Idle Mystery

I have a used Craftsman 358351702 chainsaw. I opened up the clutch assembly and can see what looks like dark discoloration on the drum and clutch, plus some melted plastic on the chassis ("~12-1 o'clock" as viewed from the saw's right side) and on the chainsaw brake. I removed the excess...

    MS460 Missing Shrapnel?

Middle of last winter I picked this 460 up off of craigslist immediately after cutting wood with my buddy. Me running a pathetic MS210C and him a MS290"Farm Boss" pretty much bought the 460Mag before I dialed the number. It is a high hour saw, no doubts there. But it runs better than my daily...

Jonsered 625 II oil pump cover problem

Picked up a decent 625 for cheap, and the oiler wasn't working so good, took the clutch off and oiler, cleaned it all, trying to figure out the design with the only adjustment being that you take a screwdriver and turn the tab, but it goes in entire circle, so you cannot tell what number it's...
